Technical Questions for a LBS Game: Disabling System Gestures, Spatial Mapping & Remote Control API
Hello, I'm looking to create a multi-user, large-scale, location-based (offline) game and have a few questions: 1. Is there a way to disable system-level gestures to prevent players from accidentally exiting the application and returning to the home screen during gameplay? 2. Is there a method for scanning a large physical space (approximately 10x10 meters) to generate a persistent and shareable map file? 3. Is it possible to enable or provide some control API? We need an interface that allows a central controller to remotely start and stop the application on all devices, as well as manage the installation and updating of game content.6Views0likes0CommentsQuest Logos for Game Marketing
Hello all, Am I allowed to use Meta Quest logos in my game's advertising? The game I'm developing is, at the moment, exclusively for Meta Quest headsets and I'd like the artwork to have the correct logos. If so, where on earth do I find them?! I've search the developers site and cannot find any logos. Surely there's a Meta logo kit? Can anyone provide a link? Cheers guys! Simon80Views0likes7CommentsCasting not available for app users
Our app was recently accepted for App Lab store, and now the users report that Casting functionality is unavailable in the app. When app is installed on device in developer mode, casting does work properly. But for the app installed from the store on Quest 3, it says "Casting/Livestreaming not available". And I'm not able to find any information about enabling / allowing casting when publishing the app. What could be the issue or the reason of disabled casting functionality?Solved380Views0likes3CommentsQuest 3. MP nearby devices without internet. (Not MR) Possible?
I made a app, with simple Multiplayer. Server starts session, client joins session. Server and client see each other on chosen level. Standalone full VR (no MR, no anchors). It realized via EOS + Oculus Online Subsystem. The question is: Is it possible, make same behavior (data exchange) without internet connection, if 2 Quest 3 in physical proximity? OR via LAN (both Q3 connected to same LAN)Solved42Views0likes4Commentsdesktop App Quest window crash
hi, for only one of my world, the horizon desktop crashes and restarts on trying to open the Quests tab (System -> Quests from the top menu bar). This happens only to this instance of this world (which is published)). I have no issues if I clone this world, or if I try in another world. My Collaborator (not tester) to this world also face the same issue. Please let me know if I am missing something in the configuration of this world, or any fix, or anything else you want me to try. Ussie also reported in Report Issues and feedback from the desktop editor. Track Id : 102974795603877562Views0likes3CommentsOculus Browser - set start page?
I have a fleet of headsets through Oculus for Business. We deploy Oculus Browser on it for our WebXR project. Is it possible to change the start page in the browser, so that our site comes up automatically? If so, is it possible to do through Workplace? Currently, we set a bookmark to the site when we provision the headsets, but this has to be done manually on each headset, and the users have to remember to look in the bookmark list.1.3KViews2likes2CommentsUnintended automatic Recenter when using hand tracking with Quest Link
Location of the issue: Quest Link home screen and applications using Quest Link Symptoms: - First, put on the Quest headset while it's in sleep mode. - The proximity sensor then wakes the Quest from sleep mode and launches the app. - At this point, if you use hand tracking to turn your palm towards yourself, it unintentionally triggers an automatic Recenter. Additional information: - Once this behavior occurs, it won't happen again until the Quest enters sleep mode next time. - This issue occurs not only in Quest Link apps but also on the Quest Link home screen. - The Recenter seems to trigger the moment the Meta button appears on the wrist. - We checked the log output using ADB, but couldn't find any relevant error information at the moment this issue occurred. This Recenter occurrence significantly disrupts the user experience when demonstrating apps that rely solely on hand tracking. When users move their hands, it unintentionally triggers a Recenter, causing confusion with the user's perspective and severely compromising the experience. If anyone has encountered a similar issue and found a solution, we would greatly appreciate your input. video: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1lxnDHhZV89W7NyO-GNWtaZdqp3jz4og0/view?usp=sharing1.5KViews1like3Comments
