Request to restore ON / OFF option for “Double Tap to Toggle Passthrough”
It seems that the ON / OFF setting for “Double Tap to Toggle Passthrough,” which existed prior to v81, is no longer available. During gameplay, when adjusting the Quest headset (for example, fixing its position), the double-tap gesture can be triggered unintentionally. This causes the game to switch to passthrough mode, interrupting gameplay and breaking immersion. It would be very helpful if this feature could be configurable again via the settings menu (ON / OFF), as it was before. Restoring this option would greatly improve the experience for users who value immersion, especially during games and interactive applications. Thank you for your consideration. 11Views0likes1CommentAllow option for internal speakers to work with headphones connected / 3.5mm / BT
Hello, Quest 3 feedback suggestion: Allow option for internal speakers to work with 3.5mm or bluetooth headphones connected. Reason: For devices such as the Woojer haptic feedback vests, straps or subwoofers, you cannot use the built in speakers due to connecting these either via the 3.5mm jack or bluetooth. Adding this as an option would not hurt anything, heck you could even add a pop-up to note that this setting has been changed and where to find it each time something is connected. Advantage: There would then be no need to use additional headphones when wearing a haptic vest, haptic strap or when using a subwoofer. Headphones can be cumbersome or not even possible to use with most VR headstraps. Many thanks for listening.207Views3likes5CommentsFIXED: Quest 3 Locked After Setting Password Instead of PIN - NO Reset Needed
Problem: I accidentally set a password (e.g., "Meta Quest") using the hidden Android settings on my Meta Quest 3. After that, the headset asked for a PIN, not a password -- and there was no way to type letters. It looked like a factory reset was the only way out. Solution (No Factory Reset!): You can unlock your Quest and reset the passcode using the Meta Quest mobile app, even if the headset is stuck at the PIN screen. Step-by-Step: 1. Open the Meta Quest app on your phone (Android or iPhone). 2. Make sure the app is connected to your locked Quest headset. 3. Tap Menu > Devices > Headset Settings. 4. Scroll to the bottom and tap Passcode. 5. The app will prompt you to enter a PIN -- but it only shows a number pad, so you can't type your password here... yet. Workaround: 6. In another app on your phone (like Chrome, Notes, etc.), type your actual password -- for example: Meta Quest 7. Copy the password to your clipboard. 8. Go back to the Meta Quest app's PIN entry screen. 9. Paste your full password into the PIN textbox (yes, even though it shows a number pad). 10. Hit Enter -- your Quest will immediately unlock, and you can now set a proper 4-digit PIN. 100 percent working on Meta Quest 3. No factory reset needed. No debug mode. No PC. Just the Meta app plus this trick. Hope this helps others!1.3KViews1like5CommentsWhat do you call it when VR Environment is not calibrated?
And how do you fix it? I am lacking the vocabulary to even ask the right question or search for a solution. But it is like the perspective is off a little. and not consistently. As an example, the Getting Started area where you have a circular desk/table around you and you can throw paper airplanes, fly the remote-control blimp, throw the ball, the pull string bottle rockets, etc... the desk is too close and way too high. Like I can rest my chin on the tabletop without moving forward or down. I'm not sure how to recalibrate this as it seems to be better sometimes, and worse at others. It is like the scale and placement of everything is off. Controllers do not point straight forward (which I have found some possible fixes). But, if I hold the controllers like a rifle to play a shooting game, the controllers point about 15 degrees to either side. and holding them up in a position like a real rifle it is about 3-4 inches low. Making it impossible to get a sight picture using the sights, optics, or other aiming device without contorting myself in very strange positions. I am assuming there are calibration settings somewhere to correct these types of things and potentially in individual games as well. Could someone clue me in on the proper terminology and some possible fixes? On a separate note. While I usually find various controllers a little small or too cramped. Does anyone else find the controller buttons a little awkward? Like they are too far apart? Not set up to be used quickly with a natural grip. I really want to like this but so far it has been very awkward to do various things in VR. I'm sure once the perspective issues are resolved it should help with the other things.55Views1like3CommentsAdvanced Audio Settings Dropdown in Quick Menu not showing
Hi, there used to be a “…” button next to the volume slider in the quick menu, where you could control the volume of each application individually. But sadly it’s been gone for a while. Is there a way to get it back or access these settings in a different way? I am using the Quest 3 and checked these versions: v79, v81 and now v83 too Thanks! Hello everyone. I received the Meta Quest 3 headset on October 12th. Launched, updated the software. And I started playing games while connected via Oculus Link to my laptop. On October 12, 13, everything was just great. Half Life Alyx has a fantastic level of graphics, a stable frame rate, there was not a single glitch. This morning I picked up the helmet again and noticed that the image quality had become terrible. Even in the lobby menu, it's terrible. There is no clarity of the image, the effect of a ladder and ripples is especially noticeable on the lines. I launched the same Half Life ALyx, and it was a terrible soap. Worse than in Quest 2. Also, while playing Blade and Sorcery, I noticed that the frame rate dropped. Although in the settings it is worth "raising the frame rate to 120 so that where possible". Changing the settings of the frame rate, screen resolution in the Meta-application did not give results. Resetting to factory settings via the Meta application also did not give results. Resetting to factory settings by pressing the off key and adjusting the volume on the helmet then also did not give results, the image is still of poor quality. The lenses are clean, there are no stains. I attach 2 screenshots, but I can assure you that the quality in the screenshots is better than what I actually see. In fact, the reflection in the mirror and the palm tree look much worse than in the screenshots, they are very blurred and pixelated.Solved137KViews9likes92CommentsSystem Message Should Provide "Do not show again" Functionality
All system messages should include a "do not show again" checkbox and there should be a section in Settings -> Notifications that list the notifications that have been blocked and allow you to unblock them. There are way too many notifications that I get repeatedly, and I do not want to see any more. Like the message telling me that one of my controllers is disconnected when I am playing a game that only needs one controller.22Views0likes0CommentsMeta Quest Remote Desktop app doesn't respect startup settings
The Meta Quest Remote Desktop app on Windows 11 insists on launching automatically every time Windows boots even though I have the setting unchecked. It's also annoying that the app doesn't show up under Startup apps in Task Manager so that I can disable it from there. Submitting feedback via the app doesnt work either. It seems to want to open the old Windows Mail app before opening the new Outlook app in Windows 11 23H2, and then does nothing.Solved19KViews12likes17CommentsQuest 3 stuck in Battery Saver Mode
So I toggled the battery saver mode 3 days ago and ofc it lowered resolution. I wanted to test the feature. So I toggled it on, saw the change, and then toggled it off. When I turned it off, the resolution stayed the same, the fovetated size stayed the same. Everything was the same as if I was still on battery saver mode (with full charge on the headset). I ignored this issue until today as I cannot deal with it anymore. I restarted the device, resolution is still low, text is pixelated, FOV is terrible, everything warped. The headset thinks I'm in battery saver mode still. Tried toggling it on and off and there is literally no change when turning it on, and of course no change when going back to off. Please help. I'm on v60Solved79KViews23likes330Comments
