Most Recent Software Update Issues
I installed the most recent software update on my Meta Quest 2 headset. The confusing and frustrating issue I encountered was that several worlds were automatically installed into storage and saved in my library without my authorization. This occurred immediately after I completed the software update. The prompt in the Worlds section of the library says something along the lines of “The Worlds you save can be found here” or “The Worlds you save are found here.” (Note: I have never seen, played, nor saved those worlds.) The final line of the prompt states, “You can remove them whenever you want.” However, after reading the prompt, I found no option to remove these worlds from the library. Another issue I experienced after this update is that, according to both the Meta Horizon app and my Quest 2, there appears to be a game listed as if I had purchased it—when, in fact, I did not. The purchase was made without my permission or authorization. This game has remained in my account for about a year since the issue first occurred, and there is still no option to permanently erase it from my account, my Quest 2’s storage, or the Meta Horizon app’s purchase records. This situation has made me feel uncomfortable and concerned about my account’s privacy and security. It seems to have been an unauthorized purchase possibly caused by a software issue at the time; furthermore, the problem still persists. One suggestion I would like to share is that for any free game, app, or world that is unused or deemed irrelevant or uninteresting to the user, there should be an option to erase it from the user’s account in the Meta Horizon app, which would then sync to Meta Quest headsets. From my perspective, this feature could improve personalized ads and content feeds within the app and the headsets, based on the data they collect. Consequently, this could enhance user satisfaction by providing more relevant and engaging content that the user genuinely enjoys.55Views0likes1CommentMeta Quest 3 stuck on "applying software update"
I just bought new Meta quest 3, and on the first time while going through normal activation process after I connected it to a WiFi it started to apply software update. It does that for a short while , saying " applying software update" and then restarting. After it boots up, it just goes back to the exact same phase, "applying software update" and restarting, again and again in an infinite loop. I've tried connecting it to a charger, factory resetting it, and connecting to different wifi network, living it alone for hours in that loop. Nothing seems to be helping... What can I do to go past that update process? Or updating in some other way? Because as of now my device is absolutely unusable.Solved88KViews15likes86CommentsMeta Quest v66 Update: Reduced Passthrough Distortion, Background Audio Support, and More
With v66, we’re reducing the amount of visual distortion in Passthrough on Meta Quest 3. Hi, After upgrading to v56, my app no longer worked. We found the issue was due to single pass rendering. We switched back to multi-pass and the app works again. However, we give up performance. Any suggestions on how I can get single pass working with v56? Thanks!2.7KViews0likes8CommentsMeta Quest v55 Release Notes

I have just recently upgraded from 4.24 to 4.27.1 (both from the Oculus branch via GIT). I can develop and launch to a Quest 2 just fine, but when I package, it consistently fails. LogInit: Display: LogOnline: Error: Oculus: FOnlineSubsystemOculus::InitWithWindowsPlatform: ovr_PlatformInitializeWindows error: -5 5 = Unable to Verify. I do have my OculusAppId filled out in DefaultEgnine.ini and worked 100% on 4.24. Should not being able to verify kill the packaging process? I'm wondering if something else is going wrong (the actual package log isn't much more help).3.5KViews0likes7CommentsApp in development does not launch after Quest 2 Update
I have been developing a Quest 2 app on unreal engine 4.25, and the app was working fine until my device got an update. Now it does not launch at all. Even older versions of it do not run anymore. The only version I could get running was a version from a year ago which is 1.5gb and the current build is 3.7gb. The app still runs in another Quest 2 which has not been updated yet. Was there a limitation to app size on the latest Quest update or is my app not working for some other reason? Thanks!3.8KViews1like11CommentsPTC v38 Release Megathread
