About Meta Quest 4 Development Suggestion
For Meta developers, I am your loyal customers and got Meta Quest 2 and Meta Quest 3 for years. I got the rumor and your latest device might be released on 2027! No matter when does it release, I would provide a deep feedback and suggestion for your next device. The overall experience is super brillant for Meta Quest 3, it is much much better than Meta Quest 2. It is due to the MR experience!! But I hope that, you can have a better visualization for MR mode, the existing performance always has shadows for my hands when moving, I cannot wear it for outside as I cannot see very clear in further distance, I can only see the closest view, but even that, when I use it to look at the text in mobile phone, it is a bit hard! Therefore, please enhance the MR experience and this is necessary!! The next enhancement must be the controller setting. I am not saying that, the existing controllers are not good enough for playing games. But as you know, there is very few games for non-controller mode!! Yes, what I mean is, you only need to use your hands and that can control many things. Even if one of your selling games of "The climb" series, I still need to use controllers to play!! But why? The other competitor Value, their controllers can let you to move each fingers separately!! But your controllers cannot, yeah, you can move a few fingers but the other competitor's controllers had been developed for years and that can move each finger's separately. Just if we can move each fingers, I do think that, many games or VR chat would have many new playing methods, even for GYM training! Therefore, would you develop a new controller method just say for example, "Meta Quest Gloves" for both hands to wear (controllers for other games) and that can help us to feel more physical or real in playing VR experience and a new development for new games? As you know, the MR experience would be a huge difference if you develop this and this can push the new trend for whole VR industry!! As AI is an existing hottest technology for the world, please develop or enhance your device with AI functions such as AI chat, yes, a real AI VR chat with your device!! This is the most important point, for Meta Quest 3, there is only VERY FEW games that have been done for enhancement!! What I mean is, enhancement from the Meta Quest 2 version to Meta Quest 3 version!! Yes, very very few games, I hope that, your new device can use AI to let the graphics more sharp and enhance the visual performance for all existing games. In reality, for TV console, such as PlayStation, or even Nintendo Switch 2, they can play the old device's game in the latest device and those games can have a few enhancement, such as FPS, outlook, the 3D image is more sharp comparing with the old device. Therefore, I really hope that, please use AI or develop something that can let users to have a better experience for old games. In the market, there is a tool that call “Quest Games Optimizer", this is an extremely good tool for enhancing the experience for playing games! Please have a look of this tool and see if you can use it in AI functions for Meta Quest 4. The graphics quality of Asgard’s Wrath 2 had been decreased a lot comparing with Asgard’s Wrath 1! It is due to the limit for the device, we cannot connect with PC. Kindly please help to release your game again in Steam platform!! What I mean, I don't know, even your game that release in Steam, but the users for PICO, PS VR 2, they still cannot play it, they must still need a meta quest 4 device. I don't know what you can do, but due to your limitation for the device, many good games cannot play in a better graphics or better performance!! Even if Steam VR is coming to launch, but they are different target segment, they cannot use MR, their device is only for playing games!! Please accept and think again to develop games for Steam!69Views0likes3CommentsSteam Hardware Survey - July 2025 results included (see latest post in this thread)
Latest results: These results are compared, at least for the Rift, to August when Rift peaked at 0.35 %. Since August 2018 Rift has decreased about 6 % (from 0.35 to 0.33). Vive also decreased. Compared to other HMDs we see from April to September (note that this image hasn't been updated to October yet): When updated to October I'd expect: Rift = 45 % Vive = 42 % WMR = 8 % Vive Pro = 3 % Rift DK2 = 1 % Source: https://store.steampowered.com/hwsurvey/Steam-Hardware-Software-Survey-Welcome-to-Steam BTW - some history: April 2018: Oculus Rift 0.20% HTC Vive 0.18% Windows Mixed Reality 0.01% Oculus Rift DK2 0.01% Oculus Rift DK1 0.00% Unknown 0.00% July 2018: Oculus Rift 0.32% HTC Vive 0.31% Windows Mixed Reality 0.05% HTC Vive Pro 0.01% Oculus Rift DK2 0.01% Oculus Rift DK1 0.00% I guess it's more or less a stand still since July for Rift and the original Vive... I don't think the Odyssey+ has had any impact on the WMR results above, the Odyssey+ is much too new - if it'll have any impact, it won't be before the Steam Hardware Survey November 2018 results.110KViews4likes572CommentsQuest 3 Pink Line
Hello! I’ve been having an issue with the Quest 3 where after a while I see a pink line/bar that fills up half of each lens near the bottom. I’ve looked for a few fixes but can’t seem to find the right fix. I use it through SteamVR and some threads have said it’s VRAM issues but I’m using a 4090 and still getting it. Hoping someone else have had a similar issue and found a fix.2.9KViews2likes9CommentsSteam VR not launching in my headset (quest 2 )
I have been using air link to play PC games with my quest 2 for a while now. I used to be able to simply click on steam VR while using desktop mode in air link then the application will launch and I'm good to go. But now I cannot. Once I'm in the air link and I select steam VR it does not launch the application in my headset directly, I can see steam VR home on my desktop and I can even see my controllers moving. But when I look into my headset all I see is the oculus home and no steam application is being projected into my headset. Steam VR even says it detects my headset and controllers but it won't launch into my headset.Solved112KViews1like26CommentsRetrieve a list of Games in user's Oculus Library?
hi, I've been working on a Discord Bot to help users find other users in the same discord server that own a specified game (an LFG bot) So far I've only implemented this with steam, and by popular demand, I'm now investigating if i can add the meta game library to the bot. On steam, The user logs into their steam account and the bot remembers their user ID and retrieves a list of all the games they have in their library Is it possible to do this with Meta and the Oculus library?542Views0likes0CommentsHow on earth do you get Elite Dangerous to work in VR?
I have just spent the best part of an hour trying to figure out how to get Elite Dangerous to work in VR and I have give up. Below is what I found on the internet, but all I see in the 3D option is an option for ANAGLYPH or SIDE BY SIDE? How do I get this game to work in VR? This is driving me nuts. Cheers! Start the game in Steam and then click "Launch" in the Elite Dangerous Launcher. Once the game launched go to Options, and then Graphics. Navigate to 3D and select either HMD (Headphones) or HMD (Speakers), whichever you are using.77KViews0likes23CommentsExternal sensor for Meta Quest 2
HI, I would need to add external sensors such as SteamVR Pro Tracker, "gloves" or other kind sensors for a VR application created with Unity. I would like to know if it is possible to add this kind of sensors and if so which ones are actually compatible with Meta Quest 2, or if Meta has created additional sensors in addition to the native hands tracking. Is it possible to use them without using a computer (Quest Link)? An example would be tracking real objects for their use in VR1.2KViews0likes0CommentsOculus Rift S and Steam LIV (Mixed Reality) ?
1. Error message when using Steam LIV software (The Oculus system has lost its connection to the display. Please check your headset's connection and then restart) Remove the LIV software to make it work , But there is no error in testing HTC VIVE. Steam LIV Customer service: LIV doesnt really do anything at that level. if your oculus is losing connection to the display it sounds like you have issues with your device or the oculus software so, there isnt really anything to fix there . Has anyone encountered this problem? thanks.1KViews0likes0CommentsCross-Platform Advice / Guidance
Hi, I'm currently building VR projects in Unity3D and I realize that an Android build is needed for the Quest, while a PC build supports the Rift and other tethered devices; is there a best place to start if I'd like to build projects that eventually support the Quest, Rift, and Steam platforms? I'm aware of SteamVR, OpenVR, and Oculus Integration asset, I'd like to stay organized with my approach, and any advice is appreciated? Additionally, for headsets like PSVR and Samsung Odyssey, is there a preferred approach that optimizes cross-platformability and adopts a "work smarter, not harder" methodology so that precious development hours aren't unnecessarily misallocated for optimal productivity? Thanks and take care580Views2likes0Comments
