Steam Hardware Survey - July 2024 results included (see latest post in this thread)
Latest results: These results are compared, at least for the Rift, to August when Rift peaked at 0.35 %. Since August 2018 Rift has decreased about 6 % (from 0.35 to 0.33). Vive also decreased. Compared to other HMDs we see from April to September (note that this image hasn't been updated to October yet): When updated to October I'd expect: Rift = 45 % Vive = 42 % WMR = 8 % Vive Pro = 3 % Rift DK2 = 1 % Source: https://store.steampowered.com/hwsurvey/Steam-Hardware-Software-Survey-Welcome-to-Steam BTW - some history: April 2018: Oculus Rift 0.20% HTC Vive 0.18% Windows Mixed Reality 0.01% Oculus Rift DK2 0.01% Oculus Rift DK1 0.00% Unknown 0.00% July 2018: Oculus Rift 0.32% HTC Vive 0.31% Windows Mixed Reality 0.05% HTC Vive Pro 0.01% Oculus Rift DK2 0.01% Oculus Rift DK1 0.00% I guess it's more or less a stand still since July for Rift and the original Vive... I don't think the Odyssey+ has had any impact on the WMR results above, the Odyssey+ is much too new - if it'll have any impact, it won't be before the Steam Hardware Survey November 2018 results.109KViews4likes571CommentsQuest 3 Pink Line
Hello! I’ve been having an issue with the Quest 3 where after a while I see a pink line/bar that fills up half of each lens near the bottom. I’ve looked for a few fixes but can’t seem to find the right fix. I use it through SteamVR and some threads have said it’s VRAM issues but I’m using a 4090 and still getting it. Hoping someone else have had a similar issue and found a fix.2.5KViews1like9CommentsSteam VR not launching in my headset (quest 2 )
I have been using air link to play PC games with my quest 2 for a while now. I used to be able to simply click on steam VR while using desktop mode in air link then the application will launch and I'm good to go. But now I cannot. Once I'm in the air link and I select steam VR it does not launch the application in my headset directly, I can see steam VR home on my desktop and I can even see my controllers moving. But when I look into my headset all I see is the oculus home and no steam application is being projected into my headset. Steam VR even says it detects my headset and controllers but it won't launch into my headset.Solved107KViews0likes26CommentsRetrieve a list of Games in user's Oculus Library?
hi, I've been working on a Discord Bot to help users find other users in the same discord server that own a specified game (an LFG bot) So far I've only implemented this with steam, and by popular demand, I'm now investigating if i can add the meta game library to the bot. On steam, The user logs into their steam account and the bot remembers their user ID and retrieves a list of all the games they have in their library Is it possible to do this with Meta and the Oculus library?521Views0likes0CommentsHow on earth do you get Elite Dangerous to work in VR?
I have just spent the best part of an hour trying to figure out how to get Elite Dangerous to work in VR and I have give up. Below is what I found on the internet, but all I see in the 3D option is an option for ANAGLYPH or SIDE BY SIDE? How do I get this game to work in VR? This is driving me nuts. Cheers! Start the game in Steam and then click "Launch" in the Elite Dangerous Launcher. Once the game launched go to Options, and then Graphics. Navigate to 3D and select either HMD (Headphones) or HMD (Speakers), whichever you are using.75KViews0likes23CommentsExternal sensor for Meta Quest 2
HI, I would need to add external sensors such as SteamVR Pro Tracker, "gloves" or other kind sensors for a VR application created with Unity. I would like to know if it is possible to add this kind of sensors and if so which ones are actually compatible with Meta Quest 2, or if Meta has created additional sensors in addition to the native hands tracking. Is it possible to use them without using a computer (Quest Link)? An example would be tracking real objects for their use in VR1.1KViews0likes0CommentsDoes Superhot VR support cross-buy yet on Quest 2?
My quest 2 is arriving soon and I'm looking at some games to buy, I just wanna know if Superhot VR supports cross-buy? I've seen posts talking about this before but they are several months old. Also another question, does cross-buy mean the game I buy that supports it comes up in my Steam library or another place, is it the Oculus program I installed on my PC? Or the Oculus Rift store?4.7KViews0likes1CommentOculus Quest 2 - Oculus Link - Cant make Steam VR work
Hello guys, I hope one of you can help me out there. I can't figure for the life of me why I can't get SteamVR to work with my Oculus Quest 2. Everything is installed and reinstalled, I got a good cable, my Oculus software detects my headset and I can access my desktop also without a problem. I added SteamVR to my library on the Oculus Software, but when I start it (directly on my desktop WITH the headset or in the library) SteamVR says it does not detect my VR headset. What I've done: -Reinstalled SteamVR -Reinstalled Oculus Software -Tried the SteamVR Beta -Rebooted my computer and headset multiple times. -Changed USB port Every time I watch a tutorial it just works and nobody seems to have that trouble. My computer is pretty limit for the specs, but it's all supported. i5 4690 GTX970 16GB of DDR3 ram USB3 cable producing 1.8 - 2 Gbps (better than tests I saw online). My oculus is in version 28.something, same as Oculus software. Both are in the stable version, no dev mode activated. No experimental features activated right now. I'm out of solution and a little bit discouraged... I hope someone can help me out there. I don't want to pay for Virtual Desktop knowing it's supposed to work fine without and I'm fine playing with a cable. Thanks,1.5KViews0likes2Comments
