Steam Hardware Survey - July 2024 results included (see latest post in this thread)
Latest results: These results are compared, at least for the Rift, to August when Rift peaked at 0.35 %. Since August 2018 Rift has decreased about 6 % (from 0.35 to 0.33). Vive also decreased. Compared to other HMDs we see from April to September (note that this image hasn't been updated to October yet): When updated to October I'd expect: Rift = 45 % Vive = 42 % WMR = 8 % Vive Pro = 3 % Rift DK2 = 1 % Source: https://store.steampowered.com/hwsurvey/Steam-Hardware-Software-Survey-Welcome-to-Steam BTW - some history: April 2018: Oculus Rift 0.20% HTC Vive 0.18% Windows Mixed Reality 0.01% Oculus Rift DK2 0.01% Oculus Rift DK1 0.00% Unknown 0.00% July 2018: Oculus Rift 0.32% HTC Vive 0.31% Windows Mixed Reality 0.05% HTC Vive Pro 0.01% Oculus Rift DK2 0.01% Oculus Rift DK1 0.00% I guess it's more or less a stand still since July for Rift and the original Vive... I don't think the Odyssey+ has had any impact on the WMR results above, the Odyssey+ is much too new - if it'll have any impact, it won't be before the Steam Hardware Survey November 2018 results.109KViews4likes571CommentsKnown Issue: Closing Steam VR crashes Dash
Hi everyone! We're seeing a small group of Steam VR users finding that Dash is crashing on headset and that their PC is becoming unresponsive once they quit the app. The team is working on identifying and fixing the root cause of this issue, and right now the investigation shows that this is likely related to Hardware Accelerated GPU Scheduling being enabled when using certain Nvidia GPUs. If you're having this issue, there is a workaround In the meantime! You can prevent this happening by disabling the Hardware Accelerated GPU Scheduling feature. To do so, follow these instructions. If you need any further help or have noticed other bugs around Steam VR, please comment below. Let me know if you have any questions!18KViews9likes15CommentsRetrieve a list of Games in user's Oculus Library?
hi, I've been working on a Discord Bot to help users find other users in the same discord server that own a specified game (an LFG bot) So far I've only implemented this with steam, and by popular demand, I'm now investigating if i can add the meta game library to the bot. On steam, The user logs into their steam account and the bot remembers their user ID and retrieves a list of all the games they have in their library Is it possible to do this with Meta and the Oculus library?521Views0likes0CommentsHaving trouble with VR game design
hello guys, I'm trying to convert the Survival template pro from unity (used to make tha forest game in steam) into a VR game using steam VR (HTC vive headset.) but i'm facing lots of truoble and tha main error is that when the camera rig is set active and used in the scene. The main figure is place outside the scene itself. Also the game is only visible from the right dispplay in VR and Left display is blank and only shows static images when pressed escape.366Views0likes0CommentsSteam Link not working with Quest 3
Update 2024: It has been fixed for me and steam link now works even with older AMD drivers. It work very well even, I prefer to use it over airlink or Virtual Desktop. Steam link is not working for me. I have steam open, when I click "connect" on my headset steam link app I get "host not responding" error 200. When I start SteamVR on my PC manually first, then click "connect" on my steam link app in the headset I get a window saying "Stream initializing", "Connecting to host PC is taking longer than usual..." The app tells me the headset is paired, airlink is working fine. Does anyone else have issues?31KViews5likes23CommentsExternal sensor for Meta Quest 2
HI, I would need to add external sensors such as SteamVR Pro Tracker, "gloves" or other kind sensors for a VR application created with Unity. I would like to know if it is possible to add this kind of sensors and if so which ones are actually compatible with Meta Quest 2, or if Meta has created additional sensors in addition to the native hands tracking. Is it possible to use them without using a computer (Quest Link)? An example would be tracking real objects for their use in VR1.1KViews0likes0CommentsSteam VR games freeze
Hi, I'm totally new to the VR world and got my Quest 2 recently. Was looking forward to play some games from the Steam VR library, but every game I launch freezes after a few seconds of movement. It appears that the picture/screen only freeze inside the VR headset, while it still reacts on the laptop when I'm moving around. I've been looking for solutions on youtube and tried to find some quick fixes, but without any luck. Hope some of you got any tips on how to fix this or at least know the reason to this problem. Best regards Papa2.1KViews0likes1Commentsteam Vr impossible to play

I use my quest 2 to play games from sidequest, steam vr and of course oculus pc games. I've got it set up with virtual desktop for wireless gaming throughout my house. While attempting to set up controllers in steam vr I my have caused the drift which now occurs throughout all the platforms and most of the games i.e. the forest and contractor are most severe and population one to a lesser degree. Any Ideas would be greatly appreciated. Thanks778Views0likes1Comment
