Quest 2 controllers not working
Both of my controllers will constantly not be able to be tracked or have any buttons work. They are connected and have a full battery but still nothing works. I've also tried reseting my headset and I am not sure what to do because I have tried every possible thing. If anyone knows what I can do to fix this please help me out.Solved20KViews0likes23CommentsMeta Quest 3 no longer recognizes head tracking.
Hi guys I am here as desperate because my Meta Quest 3 started to give me this problem as per the title, I will tell you the story in more detail: I got the Meta Quest 3 new months ago and it has always worked perfectly, the other day I used it in PCVR with the cable as always and without any problems, before I turned it off I saw that out of nowhere a new item "Allow automatic power on when updating" had appeared under the item "Automatically update before power off", I didn't give it too much importance and unchecked as always and turned it off; I then put down the headset as usual which hasn't received a beating or anything these days, today I turned it back on and basically when I go into the home if I move my head above the view goes below and if I move my head below the view goes above (basically the head tracking doesn't work), the controllers are not recognized at all (but they flash and every 20 seconds they vibrate) and after a while the headset brings me back to a black screen asking me to try using hand tracking or the controllers if the problem persists (which is useless because they don't go for me). I have tried rebooting it many times, even going to the Boot Screen and clicking Boot Device, but nothing, it doesn't work. Also now when I turn it off (which I have to do forcibly), when I go to the power off menu, there is no longer the "Allow auto power on when updating" item I mentioned earlier, I don't want to have turned off the device while it was updating, or I don't know what else, even though I had checked the notifications and there was nothing updating. What can I do guys? I don't want to format it, it took me months to set it up just the way I liked it. I'm asking for your help, thank you all for those who have made it this far.Solved6.8KViews0likes14CommentsUnable to perform Factory Reset
Sooooo... I've only had my Quest 2 for 6-8 weeks. Recently, I started having issues where each time I boot the headset, it says "Lost Tracking"... yadda yadda yadda. I am able to work around this by simply waiting until I get to the main lobby, go into setting and turn Tracking back on. It seems to work fine for that session. But every time I turn the unit off, the next time I boot I have to go through the same thing. I reached out to support a week or so ago and they said to perform a Factory Reset. Well, I tried that but it didn't work and it was late. So I have been dealing with my work around since. Next, I have begun to have issues with In Death - Unchained where the game tile just says "syncing" and you can never launch the game. Again, I found a work around by going to the store and simply running it from there. I do get a warning, something about possible progress being lost, yadda yadda yadda. Reading some of the posts about this issue, seems like the same fix... perform a Factory Reset. 😐 So, tonight I tried to do just that. I shut down the headset, then press and hold the power button and the volume - until then menu comes up. Problem is... it only comes up for a fraction of a second then the unit self reboots. The menu is not on the screen long enough for me to even read it, let alone use the +/- buttons to select Factory Reset, if that option is even there. Again, it flashes so fast I can not even read it. So.... now what???Solved44KViews1like34Commentsis there a fix other than getting a new one for permanent black screen and permanent tracking loss?
so i was playing echo vr today, totally fine, then i go shower, and then come back to my quest constantly losing tracking and freezing the screen...i kept doing hard resets and finally did a factory reset which only resulted in my quest going black when i turn it on...all i see is the oculus symbol, then a lit black screen, sometimes the 3 dot loading comes out, my sensor doesnt work as well either...this actually all happened when i tried to "record video" on the melody vr app for the whiz khalifa concert which froze my screen for like a second...it says i cant but i stubbornly tried 2 more times, which ended up losing my tracking after a minute after the screen recovering....now i know DAMN well this isnt my fault or an issue on my end...never have i dropped the quest sat or any damage other than my own sweat for the 6 months i have had it...i now know that oculus support is terrible and doesnt care as much as they should, but im worrying that ill never get to use my quest unless i buy a new one, which is never in stock, and for only 6months of use spending 436 dollars is not worth it, especially when oculus doesnt have a promise that the issues are resolved tbh it seems like the graphics chip burned out or something over one of the games or the attempt to record something that isnt allowed, its like they are throwing too many experiments without testing, and once you use it it starts screwing with your quest, i used multitask browser 2 days ago and turned it off because i felt like it lagged more, maybe that could be an issue idk...but if i do ever get a new quest, im never using the experimental functions or using the record function for these shows, SCREW THAT1.4KViews0likes5CommentsRift S is the only PC headset that has issues with black / static screens and loss of tracking.
I have an original Oculus Rift CV1 and I purchased the Rift S which worked great until Oculus updated. Now I’m having the same issues as a lot of other people in the forums. The interesting thing is that once I hooked up my original Oculus Rift with three sensors, the issues are gone completely. I have full tracking, no black screens or white static. So if you’ve been on the fence about hooking up your old Rift “if you still have it” I’d do that to continue playing until everything is sorted through a software update on the S. I am in original CV1 early adopter and I remember for two years there were issues with everything from stutters to tracking issues which Oculus never owned up to. From what I’m hearing from many forum posts they are at it again with excuses and false troubleshooting tactics. God I hope this will not be a repeat of that 2 year fiasco. Very disappointed because it worked flawlessly until the Oculus update. #FACEPALM2.5KViews1like19Comments
