Stuck in old update
I was having trouble with an online game when I gave up and had to factory reset. Ever since the factory reset my oculus is stuck on a previous update. When I check for update it says all up to date. This also forces other games to be in an old update. oculus 3s32Views0likes3CommentsDeoVR busted again with new update
I for the longest time thought that DeoVR was to blame, but since the firmware update a few days ago, I realize it's been the Quest firmware updates hysterically tinkering with head tracking the whole time. I'm on Quest 3, but i had the same issue on Quest 2 - suddenly and without warning, the 6ofD head tracking and dome scaling just becomes "wrong" out of nowhere. E.G., tracking your head forwards or backwards will zoom appropriately, but every other dimension will translate WAY too much as a result, making the video you're watching hypersensitive to tiny little micro motions you don't even realize you're making with your head, rendering almost anything with video or passthrough completely useless. Previous firmware it was calibrated better, it almost seems like it goes normal>bad>normal>bad, with each update. You're basically having to choose between things looking wrong in one way, or looking wrong in a different way. From update to update, It's never consistently wrong, and it's not the app. I keep several versions of the app on hand to jump between whenever this happens, even though it usually doesn't fix anything. It makes more sense now that I know it's not DeoVR, because sometimes I'd be on the same exact version and turn the headset on and just feel like everything suddenly looked horrible where it didn't just hours prior. The color grading gets weird, the passthrough feed and the video clash colors forcing me to turn up night mode so everything is an analogous orange, but which totally defeats the purpose of having color passthrough at all. I guess my question is, why are we messing with the head tracking and color grading at all, when clearly we know that we know what looks good and what doesn't since every alternating update gets it right? It's almost like I'm being pranked, or like I'm being manipulated into engaging here on the forums, or being baited into getting upset and doing unwitting advertising by complaining online, or something. Why is the meta for our updates snip snapping between the normal product I paid for and an insane clown world version with no explanation? This most recent update the tracking is so bad I get motion sickness just IN THE MENU without even opening an app or game at all. How much the passthrough feed moves relative to the very slightly translating HUD menu I'm trying to read makes me feel like I need to immediately rip the headset off and find a bowl to puke in, and I've almost never gotten motion sickness in my entire life. Anyway, really hope we can fix it, thanks for your time.89Views0likes6CommentsMeta quest 3s stuck in usb update mode

It was working fine and then stopped. It tried to do a firmware update and it will make it to 66% and then reset, does this 3 times and then fails. Tried all of the “fixes” I.e. unpair, factory reset, batteries, but it will not work. Any other solutions??Solved24KViews2likes49CommentsRequest: Add Arabic Language & Keyboard Support for Meta Quest.
Hello Meta Team, I’m writing to highlight the urgent need for Arabic language support (including an Arabic keyboard) on Meta Quest devices. The Arabic-speaking market is one of the largest in the world, with over 420 million native speakers across 22 countries in the Middle East and North Africa. This region has one of the highest internet and mobile adoption rates, and VR adoption is growing rapidly. According to market research, the MENA gaming market is projected to exceed 6 billion USD by 2027, with VR playing a major role. Many potential users in this region are excited to explore Meta Quest, but the lack of Arabic support creates a barrier to entry and reduces the overall experience. Adding Arabic language support will: Improve accessibility for millions of users. Strengthen Meta’s presence in a fast-growing market. Boost sales and brand loyalty in the region. We sincerely hope you prioritize Arabic language support in upcoming updates, as it would be a game-changer for millions of potential customers. If you also want Arabic support, please upvote this post so Meta can see the demand.221Views6likes3CommentsMeta Horizon v249 Release Notes

Hi everyone, I’m hoping someone here can help. About a month ago, my Meta headset became completely unusable immediately following a software update. Since then, it displays only a black screen. The device powers on and I still hear audio, but the display and tracking system completely fail. Support has now confirmed that the tracking system itself is the issue and is not fixable through normal troubleshooting. The headset worked perfectly before the update. I’ve spent weeks working with support, completing every troubleshooting step they asked for. Today I was told they are closing my case without repair, replacement, or refund despite acknowledging the failure happened after the update and that the tracking system is the cause. This is extremely frustrating. A manufacturer software update should not permanently disable the hardware, and closing the case without resolution feels wrong. Has anyone else experienced this after an update? If so, how did you get it resolved? Any advice on escalation paths within Meta would be greatly appreciated. I've truly never had such disappointing treatment and run around from customer service. I just keep getting put off that a team is reviewing the case but no real resolution and then today they are looking to close the case. It's my sons quest 3s and he takes immaculate care of it. His twin is in the hospital a lot and this quest is a life line for him and his friends when things get hard. This ruined a lot of the Christmas gifts we got him as they were related to his quest and he's been without it for over a month. Device: Meta Quest 2. Device Info: Serial Number:1WMHHA63LJ2116 Boot Slot:A Secure Boot:Yes Lock State:Locked Build Variant: User Model Revision: Hollywood (DVT) RAM Size (MB):6093 (3 Partitions) Description: I remember it happening around the late night on the 6th of December 2025. I was inside of VRChat at the time, when my headset suddenly reset and booted back up with an update. I spawn in the Horizon Central Environment, It showed me this "Welcome To Passthrough" popup, I click through the pages and close it, but then I realize I can't open my menu, and the popup from before, it just keeps showing up again. I also notice that when I go to the Power Down Menu, I can see a portal and a mirror that don't show up with the "Welcome To Passthrough" section. I don't know if anyone else is having such an issue, then, or now. I have Tried a Couple Troubleshooting methods to get out of this, but to no avail. Hold the power button for about a minute. Hold The Power Button and the Volume Down Button and Select Boot Device. All I want to do is get my device out of this infinite loop.158Views0likes3CommentsStuck on Quest 2 Firmware 50.x — Can’t Update, Can’t Pair, Completely Unusable
Hi everyone, I’m really stressed and discouraged by what’s happening with my Quest 2 right now, and I’m hoping someone here can help me. I don’t use my headset very often since my kids are still too young for VR. Today I wanted to use it again, but it was still on version 50.x, and several things no longer worked — including casting. In the settings, it said there were no updates available. So I followed the official procedure here: https://www.meta.com/fr-ca/help/quest/software_update/ …but I always get the error “Device not supported” when trying to manually update it. I then tried to contact Meta Support, but my headset does not appear in my devices list: https://www.meta.com/my/devices/ Even when I enter the serial number manually, the site says it’s invalid. Because of that, I can’t open a support ticket or talk to anyone at Meta. I tried everything I could think of: another computer, another iPad, anothere Wifi, reinstalling Meta Horizon on iOS, etc. Casting still doesn’t work, updates still don’t work — nothing works. In panic, I made the worst mistake possible: I factory reset my Quest 2. Now I’ve lost everything, and it got even worse: the headset can’t pair with the Meta Horizon app anymore. It’s completely unusable, and honestly I’m freaking out. I’m almost sure this is all caused by being stuck on the old 50.x firmware, but I can’t find any way to force an update or get the headset back online. If anyone has gone through this, knows a workaround, or knows how to manually update a Quest 2 in this situation, please — I’d really appreciate your help. Thank you so much.Solved306Views0likes6Comments
