PC wired link bricked for all, this is encroaching lawsuit territory
Even with my headset and computer completely disconnected from the internet the PC link does not work. Stop telling everyone it's their fault. Gutted valuable developers, local only link bricked, likely abandoning Quest 4. Any future Meta product is almost certainly off the table for me at this point, hope your stock bricks in the same fashion.... I was very excited when I bought the Meta Quest 3. The games are excellent, Virtual Desktop worked well, and overall the experience was genuinely impressive. Unfortunately, just 2.5 weeks after the one-year warranty expired, the headset suffered a non-recoverable hardware failure. Based on extensive troubleshooting with Meta Support, the internal flash storage appears to have failed or become corrupted. Factory resets, recovery mode, and all supported repair options were attempted but the device could not be repaired. I requested a courtesy warranty exception given how close this was to the warranty expiration and the fact that this was clearly not misuse or user error. After much back-and-forth with Meta Support, they refused. The only option offered was a refurbished replacement for $360, with a very limited warranty. This experience significantly changed my view of the product and Meta's support policies. The Quest 3 is impressive when it works, but Meta does not meaningfully stand behind the hardware outside of a very strict warranty window, even in cases of premature failure. BUYER BEWARE. If you choose to buy this product, I strongly recommend purchasing it from a retailer like Costco that has customer-friendly return and replacement policies, because Meta itself clearly does not value its customers and will not make you whole once the warranty expires.50Views2likes4CommentsAfter factory reset for troubleshooting I can't pair back to meta app it's stuck
Devices having issues (meta quest 2) (Samsung galaxy s23 ultra) I did a factory reset as was recommended to fix the problem of being stuck at 90% when trying to stream to phone. I did a factory reset for being stuck at the pairing screen so I went back to boot menu did another reset then did a side loader update and issue was not fixed. On my meta app my headset is still registered so I can't input the code to pair the headset again. I have Uninstalled and reinstalled several times and as well cleared the cache and data in the app. I have restarted my phone and my blue tooth. When I try and pair a new device I get stuck at "allow permissions" but I have given this app every single permission. I go to manage profiles and am given error 1675012. Now, I try and go another way by accessing my account on the website and it says no device is found or registered with this account for some unknown reason but it's still connected through my meta app. I have a warranty that is still valid and transaction history. I have looked into how to fulfill my warranty but as a device isn't registered on the website it seems I can not do it. It seems as if this whole process is connivingly convoluted on purpose to inundate people through excessive confusing menus. Screenshots will be included of the error screensSolved350Views1like12CommentsOut over $28.000 from Meta..Quest Pro.. Just became a piece of expensive plastic
This was bought for me for Christmas since I'm really into creating . Worked great.. 2 months out of waranty..it died. Literally... I was in a game playing.. it went black, didn't shut down, cause I didn't here the jingle. Battery was over half full. Now .. wont turn on... doesn't charge.. doesn't make a sound...doesn't light up anywhere.. its just expensive plastic.. I've done all troubleshooting.. tried reset.. It won't do most of troubleshooting since it won't do anything..Im out alot of money..I am a creator, and can't get anything done.now it's discontinued shortly after it was created. I dont find this right.. I've told them it was a software update I believe since it had just did one.. At first thought no matter if it has warranty or not they should fix cause there software did it.. but now I want it fixed even if I have to pay. They told me they are aware of this problem, but they have no solution.. so I'm stuck. Im very upset.. We had to really save for this expensive device that was discontinued 2 years after creating.. I have literally bought at least one of every device from meta in the past.. sometimes 3 or 4.. I have from all previous headsets 700 purchased games.. my pro headset alone I have over 270x at least $30 a game.. They tell me BUY A NEW ONE.. Where is customer appreciation care?Where is loyalty?I have never used there repair or warranty for any of my headsets.. I AM NOT GOING TO EVER BUY ANOTHER META HEADSET... Being that now days the games are software on line, there is no physical hard copy, I'm out $28.000 from all my different headset types holding games from meta.. averaging games at $40 and over 700 games bought from gear, go ,quest 1, 2 ,and pro.. I can't even recoup any money by selling my games to anyone.. this us a serious problem. They should at least have some kind plan set up for fixing there most expensive product that is discontinued. Hello, I’m hoping someone can help me out. Randomly my Quest 3S headset started to turn on to the Meta logo but then would go to a black screen after that and never actually boot. Initially we thought it wasn’t charging properly, but after trying 4 different chargers, cords, boxes and outlets. That doesn’t seem to be the problem. Any help is greatly appreciated - Thank you232Views0likes4CommentsQuest 2 bricked by firmware update
Hi all, Unfortunately like many others I have a Quest 2 that has been bricked by a firmware update. Meta support have said it's out of warranty and have offered me a refurbished replacement Quest 2 for = £180 (242 USD) which comes with only a 90 day warranty. I understand it's now out of warranty but it's not like this was caused by a fault of our own doing. It has been very well looked after. This Quest 2 was in storage for quite some time since last being used. The symptoms match exactly what others have stated under this issue. I have confirmed it's charging all ok via a USB C power meter. It no longer powers on or shows any lights. When connected to a PC, it is recognised in Device Manager as qusb_bulk_cid:0412, which indicates the device is in Qualcomm's low-level emergency recovery mode, but Meta have not released the software required to recover it pubically. Some news articles on the issue suggest that Meta were replacing or fixing devices out of warranty but it seems that this is no longer the case? https://communityforums.atmeta.com/discussions/OtherTroubleshooting/meta-quest-2-completely-bricked-after-initial-software-update/1275188 https://www.roadtovr.com/meta-free-quest-3s-replacement-bricked/ https://mixed-news.com/en/cause-of-bricked-quest-headsets/ I think the suggested price for a refurbished replacement of a now discontinued headset is way too expensive, especially with only a 90 day warranty. It's not sold any longer. The stated retail price of 299 USD was correct when it was on sale before, when new and before the 3S was released. What's to say this issue won't happen again in a future update or for the Quest 3 or 3S? I understand it's older now, but it's in perfect condition and the only issue is with the software, caused by a Meta update - now it's a useless paperweight and not even from my own doing. It sure puts you off buying a new headset. What are your thoughts?222Views0likes4CommentsHow can I check my warranty
