Meta ai glasses video not playing
I bought myself the meta wayfarers and my gf the meta HTSN. We both have different smartphones, (Samsung and Xiaomi). Both cant play any of the videos shot on the glasses in the app, a workaround of sending ourselves the video through whatsapp works (sometimes). It never has a thumbnail, and it either plays at a low framerate, or it plays once, and then every time after the first a message pops up saying the video is not supported. On many forums and discussions I see meta blaming the smartphones because they "dont support the codec" but even VLC for android cant play the video's. And our phones both play the H.265 codec videos from DJI fly perfectly. So its not a codec issue. The only reliable way to play the video's so far has been to upload them to google photos and open then download it to a computer and view it fromm there. What is this issue? I have seen this issue brought up online for 2 years, and still no ACTUAL solution. Especially due to whatsapp sometimes playing the video once and then "not supprted" at the second attempt, makes me believe this is a deliberate software restriction. As if meta has a deal with a specific smartphone manufacturer to make the videos only available there.... What can I do to view a video I shot onn my smartphone?102Views1like1CommentThe speakers on Meta Glasses 2 are not working – I know the cause
Hi, after not using my Meta Ray-ban 2 Wayfarer 0298 for a while, I took them out of their case and updated the firmware. The speakers stopped working. I tried everything: restarting, hard reset, disconnecting, restarting my phone, re-pairing, but the glasses still behaved abnormally and occasionally the message "Speakers not working" popped up in the app. Then, by coincidence and a bit out of desperation, I restarted the glasses by holding down the shutter button while turning on the glasses and releasing the shutter button when the LED turned red. I left the glasses on the table and heard "battery ninety percent." I left the glasses on the table and tried to start Spotify. Suddenly, the glasses started playing. I assume that the new firmware is faulty and that the problem occurs when the user puts the glasses on their head. Is it realistic that someone will look into this? I had custom optical lenses made for the glasses for $500. Thank you for your help and response371Views2likes6CommentsMeta Ray-Ban Gen 2 Glasses Not Powering On or Charging
Hello everyone, I recently purchased a pair of Meta Ray-Ban Gen 2 smart glasses (prescription lenses) from Walmart. However, I’m facing an issue where the glasses do not power on or charge, despite following all recommended steps. Here’s the situation: The charging case works correctly: when plugged in, the case shows the yellow LED indicating it’s charging. When I place the glasses in the case: No LED appears on the glasses. The case sometimes shows a red LED when open. I have tried: Using the original iPhone 20W wall charger Checking and cleaning the charging pins on both the case and glasses Ensuring the glasses sit properly in the case with magnets snapping in place Attempting the long reset method (pressing the side button for 20–25 seconds) Despite all this, the glasses remain unresponsive. Additional details: Glasses have prescription lenses installed. The box was sealed when purchased, so this is the first use. I’ve tried multiple cables and wall sockets. Power button on the glasses is the slide type, not press-and-hold. Issue Summary: The glasses appear completely dead, and it seems like either the battery is in a deep-dead state or there’s a hardware defect preventing charging/detection. The case itself is functioning normally. Has anyone experienced this issue with Meta Gen 2 glasses? Any suggestions or confirmed fixes would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!3.6KViews2likes5Comments
