Voice sounds robotic and unintelligible during calls and WhatsApp – anyone else experiencing this?
Hi everyone, I wanted to report an issue I have been experiencing with my Oakley Meta HSTN smart glasses related to voice quality during calls and voice messages. Almost 99% of the people I talk to, whether through regular phone calls or WhatsApp, report that my voice sounds extremely distorted, robotic, or unclear. In many cases, they are unable to understand anything I am saying. This happens during regular phone calls, WhatsApp calls, and when sending voice messages. From my side, everything seems normal, but the audio received by others is consistently poor. I am not sure if this could be related to microphone quality or placement, a software or firmware issue, or noise cancellation and audio processing bugs. I would like to know if anyone else has experienced something similar, if there is any known fix or workaround, or if this could be a defect that requires replacement. For context, I have already tested different environments (quiet and noisy), a stable internet connection, and multiple contacts and devices. The issue persists in all cases. Bug: Ray-Ban Meta doesn't record voice note with WhatsApp open | Calls work fine
Major bug in the Ray-Ban Meta + WhatsApp integration in Brazil. What works: WhatsApp voice/video calls using the glasses - 100% ok "Hey Meta, send a voice message to on WhatsApp" with the app closed - 100% ok[contact] What DOESN'T work: With the WhatsApp app open in the foreground, when I hold the button to record audio, the glasses beep, it shows as if it's recording, but the audio comes out muted. Zero sound in the message. How to reproduce: Pair Ray-Ban Meta with Android phone Open a WhatsApp chat Hold the audio record button Result: beep plays, records silence, it's not working as it was supposed to. Impact: Makes it impossible to use the glasses as true "hands-free". If I need to send a voice note, I have to close WhatsApp and use a voice command, or grab my phone. Meanwhile calls work perfectly in the same scenario. Device: Ray-Ban Meta 2nd gen | Android [your version] | WhatsApp v | Meta AI app v | Glasses firmware v[version] Since both products are from Meta, this basic integration should work. Please prioritize the fix.
Rayban meta GEN2 ISSUE with Playing WhatsApp Audio Message
I've two pair of RayBan meta gen2 "Headliner + Wayfarer", and few days ago the Headliner start the issue and today also the Wayfarer. Each is connected to a different phone with different setups, but now both RayBan, when asked to play the just received WhatsApp voice message, they are muted, like they are playing a mute message... It never happened before, all the audio commands and speakers works good on other applications... We reset both glasses, reconnect, ans troubleshooting but nothing changes... Anyone has the same issue?
Casting problem
On meta quest Vr I call people on the Vr on WhatsApp they can hear me but they can’t hear the game. The game name is blade and sorcery. On youtube they can hear it and aim xr. I tried looking for if i muted it but i couldnt see anything that may make it do that. Casting the audio just wont work.
Forced to have horizons, Facebook, WhatsApp, and Instagram. Intolerable
I have a Quest 3, and I think it will be the last meta hardware I buy in the future. It's unacceptable that they force us to use HORIZONS, and that we can't uninstall WhatsApp, Instagram, and Facebook (they reinstall themselves when I turn on the headset). It's unacceptable that they do this.Whatsapp on Meta Quest was a great idea
