New drivers are required for Meta Quest Link
I've updated to the latest, non-beta for both the newly named 'Meta Horizon Link' software as well as the Quest 2 now on v83.0. The Meta Horizon Link software doesn't seem quite finished and ready for prime time. I have a persistent beam across the top of the app stating "New drivers are required for Meta Quest Link. Update now" - When I click "Update now", the app shuts but nothing more happens. I've waited several minutes thinking it might be doing something silently - it isn't. I then reopen the app which is a preceded by a 'Repair' screen. Getting back into the app, I see that same "Update now" button, click it but now it fails because the required services were stopped in the previous attempt. I restart the services and then the app, click the "Update now" button and we're back to point 1 with it closing the app and nothing happening. I've tried completely removing the app and its registry amends using Revo Uninstaller so I can completely start with a clean slate and the issue persists after a reset and re-installation. Is there a download url to the most recent link driver outside of the app available? Or is this a false notification due to a naming mismatch between the link driver and the newly named Horizon Link software? Many thanks in advance.
Quest 3 — Still no PC audio when using Link via USB-C (2025)
Hi everyone, I am reopening this issue because it still happens in 2025. My Quest 3 loses all PC audio when using Link cable. Windows shows “Oculus Virtual Audio Device” and the audio meter moves, but there is no sound in the headset. Cable has been tested by the app and works at full speed. If I use the “Repair” option in the Meta/Oculus PC app, the audio works again. But after a few days, the problem returns and I have to run Repair again. This happens almost every week. This makes the headset annoying to use because repairing the app takes several minutes and should not be necessary for basic audio output. Why this is a problem: -Repairing the app every time: takes several minutes -closes services and restarts the PC app -sometimes resets parts of the configuration -shouldn’t be necessary for such a basic feature What I already checked: -Oculus Virtual Audio Device set as default in Windows -Volume and sound device settings are correct -Good USB 3 cable and port -Quest audio works fine in standalone mode -Windows 11 fully updated -Meta PC app fully updated What I am looking for: Are other users still experiencing this? Does anyone know what keeps breaking the audio driver? Is there a permanent fix that avoids repairing the app constantly? Meta support: when will this known issue be solved??? The Meta Quest Remote Desktop app on Windows 11 insists on launching automatically every time Windows boots even though I have the setting unchecked. It's also annoying that the app doesn't show up under Startup apps in Task Manager so that I can disable it from there. Submitting feedback via the app doesnt work either. install Error for the Oculus link app
I recently purchased the meta quest 3 to use in my office, while trying to get the link app setup I keep running into an error message after about on 8th of the loading bar for the installation after the download period, the Error message says "Restart Computer. sorry, we encountered an error during installation. Please restart your computer and try running link setup again, if you still experience issues, contact quest support. we have checked over logs, we have removed all antivirus, and restrictions even as far as trying it in safe mode with network, and we get the same answer. can anyone tell me what I am doing wrong or missing? my computer specs are windows 11 version 24H2 latest update 32 gig ram Intel R Ultra 9 285 2.5 GHz Nvidia GeForce RTX 5070 latest drivers
Possible to access microphone in Quest 3 via Airlink in Windows 11?
Hi there, I'm currently planning to develop a PC VR app that uses pyAudio(ie. Python Audio) to capture and process live microphone input, with the Quest 3 connected to the PC(a Windows 11 laptop) via Airlink. So I'm wondering if the microphone is recognized by Windows 11 and accessible to Python just like my laptop's microphone(ie. as a 2nd recording device)? Btw my current understanding is that under Airlink, the Quest 3's tracking data and microphone input are beamed to the laptop via the wifi network while the rendered video/audio output are beamed back to the headset. Hello! I think I have found a way to get Oculus App on Windows 11! So, if you are in the dev channel of the beta program, this may be of help to you! If your in the beta channel, you may not be able to do this. First, you have to check for updates in the settings (Settings>Windows Updates) If it finds the build "22526" your in luck. Go ahead and download this build. (P.S. If your download is stuck at 0%, restart your PC, it should download after the restart.) Once done, download the latest Oculus Setup. Download and it should work! There is a problem with the app, Air Link does NOT work on Windows 11. The screen freaks out if you try to use it. If you know a workaround, try that. The link cable works perfectly fine though. That's all! Enjoy using Oculus App on Windows 11!
