Developer documentation updates for the week of September 2nd, 2024

Hello Meta Quest Developers! Here are the latest developer.oculus.com documentation updates for the week of August 26th, 2024. There was no update last week because I was on vacation.

Major Updates:

  • A new Analytics topic Metrics Benchmarks is now live.  Benchmarks allow members in your organization with access to analytics to compare your app’s metrics with those of other apps on the Meta Horizon Store to identify areas for improvement.
  • The Unity topic Body Tracking for Movement SDK for Unity has been updated with new prerequisites. Meta XR Core SDK for Unity v67 or newer is now required.
  • The following new Unreal topics have been added:
  • The Unreal topic Get Started with Passthrough has been updated with guidance on waiting until passthrough is ready for rendering, user-defined surfaces, and automatic environment depth reconstruction.
  • The Platform Solutions topic Webhooks has been moved out from under Multiplayer Features and new content specific to subscriptions has been added (Unity, Native, Unreal).
  • The Platform Solutions topic Achievements has been updated with troubleshooting guidance (Unity, Native, Unreal).
  • The Platform Solutions topic Entitlement Check for Meta Horizon Store Apps has been updated with new troubleshooting content (Unity, Native, Unreal).
  • The account management topic Developer Organization Verification has been updated with new guidance to match the updated UI in the Developer Dashboard.
  • Hundreds of engine related topics (Unity, Native, Unreal) have pathing and discoverability  improvements to help you find the right content for your chosen engine type.
  • More rebranding changes across the docs related to the Meta Horizon Store (formerly Meta Quest Store) and PC-VR (Formerly referred to in our docs as Rift).



Removed topics:

  • The topic User Notifications Text Guidelines has been removed. Updated content on this subject can be found on User Notifications (Unity, Native, Unreal).
