Is there any update regarding this situation at all? I've had the same thing happen to me. But it definitely can't be because of any linking, as I don't bother with most social media and haven't linked an account to one.
I just randomly had some issue occur with my headset, where it never loads the game now. I only get an orange light inside the headset. Every troubleshooting workaround I've used has yielded no results. But when I went to try and contact support, it also has the same situation with telling me no Oculus device is registered to my account. Even though I see my headset serial number in the Rift S tab. But this stops me from contacting support, because it asks for me to select a device (of which nothing shows) and I can't solve my original problem.
