Controller disconnects on its own after update

monyutantan
Explorer

The controller connection disconnects by itself. This issue started occurring after updating the Quest 3 to v68 and updating the controllers. There were no problems before this update. If the controllers are left untouched for a few minutes to a few hours, the connection will be lost. When this happens, if I pick up the affected controller, the white light blinks twice. Normal operation does not restore the connection. I have to either remove and reinsert the batteries or press the pairing buttons (Y and menu, B and Meta) and register with the smartphone to reconnect. When the connection is lost, pressing the menu button or the Meta button makes the top light of the controller blink faintly white once. The controller versions are both 1.20.2. The connection issue occurs with either the left or right controller, or sometimes both. I have tried restarting the Quest 3, turning it off, and unpairing and re-registering the controllers, but none of these have worked.

I found a temporary solution by joining the PTC, which forces my headset to upgrade to V69, and also update my controller ( even tho, based on the notification, only the left controller was updated) , the controllers stopped disconnecting after the upgrade, but my headset is still missing some new functions from v68 update , for example, I don't have the paring controller option in my headset, no meta AI, no "download" tab in the library, no new battery alert.

I got the same issue after updating to v68 today. There was no problem before this update. If I left controllers untouched for a few minutes, for example, watch some videos in virtual desktop, the connection would be lost. When this happened, I could still "see" the controller icon in quick settings page, but I had to remove and reinsert the batteries or restart my Q3 to make my controller work again.

I've got the exact same problem after a controller update yesterday. After watching a video, or doing anything else where I don't use the controller for a bit, it won't reconnect. Pulling the battery fixes it every time.
