Elite Dangerous Odyssey not launching in VR

Complicated story. Effectively I can no longer play Elite Dangerous in VR unless I use my original Horizons install.

Since I upgraded Elite Dangerous: Horizons to Elite Dangerous: Odyssey I now have 3 instances of Elite Dangerous showing in my Oculus app Library.

The first is my original Horizons install which works fine in both VR and desktop, but the other two don't load.

When launching the second instance shows on the desktop the Odyssey launch screen and in my Rift it shows a fuzzy ED logo with the words "Elite Dangerous64 loading....". This loading screen stays on in the headset indefinitely. Meanwhile on the desktop I get a message "LOGIN FAILURE The game failed to communicate with the authentication server. Please check your internet connection and try again in a few minutes." and down the bottom left of the window is the words "Connection Status: Token too old".

When launching the third instance the desktop appears to show the beginnings of the Horizons loading screens but quickly drops to the same login failure message as above but without the token bit in the corner. In the headset, again is stuck on "Elite Dangerous64 loading..." When I click OK on the desktop to dismiss the message I get a second message which says "LOGIN LOST We have logged you out of the game because your account is not currently available. Please try again shortly."

My internet connection is fine and I can play Elite Dangerous: Odyssey fine from the desktop launcher in 2D (NoVR).

What's up with the other two instances and why can't I play ED: Odyssey in the Rift. I know the on-foot action doesn't give you VR anyway, but the in ship action does work in VR.

I also have desktop icons for ED: Odyssey and I have been playing for a few months in 2D on the desktop using a NOVR shortcut to launch using the ED launcher. But now I want to play in VR again and can't.  When I try the desktop launcher (with VR enabled) I get an "Unhandled Exception Error" and cannot launch the game if I have the Oculus App running and if I don't have the Oculus App running I have no VR because the headset is effectively off.

Help!!! It's all too confusing.

All fixed.

Someone helped me in the Elite Dangerous forums. I had to run the ED launcher exe manually from within the Oculus programs folder. Then I had the option to updgrade Odyssey and now it all works fine. I simply deleted the other two instances of ED from my Oculus library before I did that....freed up some disk space too.
