How do I get a replacement controller? Is my warranty still active?

Both of the analog sticks on my Quest 2 controllers are drifting, and it has gotten worse over the past few months, to the point where I can't even change my view or move properly. How do I get a replacement?

Hey CalciumCalride! We wanted to reach back out to see if you were able to get your controller's analog stick to stop drifting with the thumbstick and dead zone experimental feature. If not, we can provide the next step! We're looking forward to hearing from you!

Hi there, CalciumCalride! We hate it when those pesky drifts intervene with our users experience. Nonetheless, we're here and ready to help!

We'd like to ask you some questions about the drifting issues you ran into recently. Below are some inquires we have you to answer so that we can understand the drifting issue a little better:

  • When did you first notice this drifting issue with your analog sticks?
  • Have your controllers experienced any direct impact recently?
  • Did you tried toggling with the Thumbstick Range and Deadzone settings to see if this improves the controllers calibration?
  • Have you attempted any troubleshooting steps? If so, what were they?

We hope to hear from you soon with these responses so we can get you back immersed in the world of VR!

Thanks for the quick reply.

I've noticed them drifting for about 4 months, and while it was negligible at first, it kept getting worse. They didn't take much impact. I tried taking the battery out and waiting before putting them back in, and un-pairing the controllers for about 30 minutes-1hour before pairing them again.

I haven't tried dead-zone setting or toggling thumbstick ranges. I didn't know that was a thing. I can't use my headset right now since I'm on a trip until Sunday, so if you could tell me how to those things I'll try it out when I get back home.

Howdy, CalciumCalride! Excellent question, and we'd be more than honored to provide some insight into how to toggle with these particular controller settings.

In your headset, open the QuickStart menu. From here, you'll want to navigate your way to the settings tab. After you've made it here, you'll want to scroll until you come across a tab that says, "Experimental Features." Then scroll until you find the "Thumbstick and Deadzone" calibration feature, then you'll have the option to calibrate both controllers to your liking.

We hope this helps and that you have a splendid start to your trip!

For now, this seems to work in having my stick not sense the drift thats occuring right now. Although it does seem like a temporary fix, as my drifting will get worse over time. I'll post another question when this happens. Thank you!
