So I toggled the battery saver mode 3 days ago and ofc it lowered resolution. I wanted to test the feature. So I toggled it on, saw the change, and then toggled it off. When I turned it off, the resolution stayed the same, the fovetated size stayed the same. Everything was the same as if I was still on battery saver mode (with full charge on the headset).
I ignored this issue until today as I cannot deal with it anymore. I restarted the device, resolution is still low, text is pixelated, FOV is terrible, everything warped. The headset thinks I'm in battery saver mode still. Tried toggling it on and off and there is literally no change when turning it on, and of course no change when going back to off.
Please help.
I'm on v60

I brought it up because I was experiencing this issue, which I posted about a while back in this thread. Back then, switching between normal and battery saver mode had no effect, and I was getting the same low resolution regardless of my settings. Sorry to disappoint you and your assumption my issue has nothing to do with this bug when it obviously does.

nope.
it has absolutely nothing at all to do with this
The changes in vd affect the stream sent to the headset nothing more. And obviously you can see the changes when you adjust that.
the quest 3 has no ability to make changes to your desktop PC. That’s a bizarre concept
thanks for giving the devs the opportunity to ignore the issue by posting that garbage though.

As I said to the other member, you don't get to dictate what I've seen and experienced. Again, sorry to disappoint you with actually having resolution issues in the past directly related to this bug that are now resolved for whatever reason.

If there is anything obvious about this thread. Meta is ignoring this thread regardless of what people are posting. There have been multiple quest updates since this has been opened, and zero fixes. And they clearly haven't fixed the factory reset, restoring the headset back to the way it came in the box. So clearly something is rotten in denmark. Meta needs to take control of this thread, and start providing details and facts, instead of leaving all of us to sit here and speculate on what is going on. I find it hard to believe it has been open this long, and they have absolutely zero to report back on what the cause of the issue is, or what can be done to resolve it.

This jadel person is a troll or a complete know it all
I set the passthrough to the standard resolution in quest games optimiser last week and it really improved the resolution. The improvements have stayed after uninstalling the software
So maybe the OS is in a state where the bug can be gotten rid of for passthrough and PCVR as possibly third party apps can now force the headset to a higher resolution to what is locked into.

I guess I have been wrong on this topic 😂
I finally got around to trying some proper games instead of beat saber and the quality is terrible. All the details are there but the entire picture has a low res crapness to it
I tried Assasins creed, Asgards Wrath 2 and tiger blade
rubbish

Meta please focus on this issue!
There are literally thousand of devices locked in low resolution, with "stair effect" on every line surface and flickering/not rendered in-game menus!
I just discovered today that this issue is WELL know from last year and it's crazy to me that was not fixed yet!
_____
I had a new device that was fine till I had to replace it and they gave me a refurbished one with this bug even if it was factory reseted. I noticed from day 1 that the resolution was super poor but I accepted at first... now I can't accept this quality anymore after all this months, it's really unpleasant to see that **bleep** horrible lines.
