Hey guys! We would love to help you guys add a payment method to your account. We do understand its a critical part to enjoy new games. Let's go ahead and start out with some troubleshooting steps.
Try adding the payment method from another device completely (another computer, phone, or tablet.)
Try adding the payment method from within virtual reality by using the headset.
Try adding the payment method while connected to a different network (another Wi-Fi network or a cellular data connection on a phone, if available).
Some non-residential networks may cause this issue. (for example, business, public, government, military, etc.)
Certain network security settings may cause this issue, even on residential networks for example, antivirus, firewall, proxy, router-specific settings).
The following rules apply for all payment methods used on the webstore
The card must be associated with a billing address
The card must be able to have funds added/reloaded to it
E-cards and virtual Mastercards should work, but most Gift cards do not have this option
There cannot be purchasing restrictions placed on the card
The network cannot have any purchase restrictions to prevent online payments
Postal codes that do not follow the correct format will result in “invalid postal code”

Just to actually complete the surprisingly long reply from the support and to end the confusion:
Meta does not just accept any money you might have to offer - they have strict conditions. Whatever card you try has to meet these criteria: Issued in your name, same name used for your account. Issued to the same address as in your Meta account. Fully VERIFIED, meaning whoever issued the card CONFIRMED your details as correct.
Sounds simple enough but comes with often unexpected problems. Like when you tried to keep your privacy and purchased the headset as a gift while using a freemailer or such to set up your Meta account. Suddenly you end up with a headset that only has a phone number linked to it to verify the owner. Makes providing an ACCEPTED payment method VERY hard. Paypal users might now object and say they did not use their real name or address for their Meta account. But THEY verified their personal details full by giving Meta full control over their Paypal account 😉
The problem that so many people face is that while there is a ton of card providers, not all of them forward your personal details upon request. Like many of these 'travel cards' - accepted as Visa or Master cards worldwide, also usable with basically any ATM or EFTPOS terminal you might encounter. You can add or transfer funds like with a real credit card. But if it does NOT have YOUR name on the card or if you DID NOT have to do a full privacy strip and credit history check to get it chances are Meta already has it on their rejection list. This becomes especially frustrating if you have one of those hyped 'online purchase' cards. Tons of providers out there, some even free of fees (for now anyway). And they all shine through ease of use and by providing an additional layer of protection for the user. If a credit card option is available at the checkout they just work - as long as you keep them topped up of course. Meta rejects those cards because they won't get your personal details verified through them 😉
What frustrates headset owners since day one is two things: 1. Meta keeps blacklisting payment methods people find working without violating their privacy. 2. Meta still fails to provide a comprehensive list of cards and payment methods their restricted system actually accepts.
Ever compared the good old days with our new Metaverse ? 😉 Back in they day, if you wanted to buy something all you needed was some cash. You hand it over and in return get what you wanted. No one cared why you wanted it or why you like it, let alone from what account the money came you use to pay..... In the Metaverse however things are a bit different. They let you without checking but once you are hooked it is all over. To use their headsets you need to verify who you are and where you are. As you might be able to get around this Meta made sure their headsets are not really good for anything unless you purchase additional things with real money. And that's when they get you 😉 You use your headset alone and in private, no one else touches it.... No one knows who you are - until you pay. From that moment on, if the transaction worked Meta has your full identify verified. With that also all other accounts you might have in the Metaverse or linked through Google LOL
look idk if yall are stupid or somthing but yall have said the same exact thing but in differant order for like 20 messeges. you guys have to understand that what yall are sayin wont work and you need to look into this further

I'm still facing to this issue. I'm not able to add a Payment method - add a credit/debit card. i was trying to add it via Windows Oculus app, Android Oculus app, web browser. Nothing! 😞 What should I do next? Maybe Oculus does not want my money??? Very flustrating...
