Upgraded to a GTX 1080 and problems began..

I have, up to this point, been one of the lucky few with zero problems. Welp, I upgraded to a GTX 1080 from a GTX 1070 and now I get random black screens. I can still hear some sort of audio and restarting the software/computer will get it back on. Any suggestions?

After doing some researh, I see its a common problem. Will start taking the steps to try and resolve it. Thanks

Update! Upgraded to a I7-9700k, 32gb ddr4, updated mobo bios, wiped the computer, reinstalled everything from scratch and working perfectly again. I know it was the nuke option, but its worth it!

Congrats, I also have a GTX 1080 currently using Forceware 417, never experienced any problems.

Indeed, i'm back in the saddle! No hiccups with the new setup! I had to go google up "Forceware" as I've never heard that term before. From what I gather it is the same as the geforce drivers?
