I bought some quest cash and am having trouble using it. I bought quest cash for a game I have on Facebook but it doesn’t come up that I’m allowed to use the quest cash. Are you able to use quest cash on Facebook games? Or does it not work. I thought it should work because Facebook is linked with meta I’m pretty sure. I’m not fully positive but I think Facebook is linked with meta, so I am not sure if the quest cash will work with Facebook games.
*Edit* just noticed the other reply and reread and saw you trying to use Quest cash on a Facebook game. Even though meta and Facebook are the same company, Quest cash only works for the Oculus/Meta store. 😕
So I just bought a Quest 3 and as part of the deal I got $30 in Quest cash. I have free time. I try to make a purchase with it. I get an error that says "This feature is unavailable."
The first support person I talked to told me it was because I didn't have credit card set up as a payment method on my account, and told me even though I was using Quest cash, I still had to have another payment method set up beforehand. And that's when I find out that anytime I try to add a credit card as a payment method I get the error "Unable to add payment method", and every time I try to use PayPal as my payment method it seems to work but the purchase doesn't go through and I get an instant email from PayPal telling me that Meta canceled my payment.
I've seen half a dozen people just on this forum today having some form of this same issue. I'm willing to bet that if you try to add a credit card or PayPal as a payment method, you're going to run into the same errors yourself. If you do, support will try to tell you to to try adding payment methods from different browsers or different computers or different apps. But none of that will make a difference. If you have the same issue, it's an issue that a lot of us seem to be having with our accounts. It's something in the Facebook/Meta account system that has broken our accounts in a strange way where we're unable to make payments or purchase anything even with Quest cash. And no one on their end has said a word about it. The good news is one guy who is having the same issue posted today that after days and days or weeks of complaining to support everyday suddenly today his account was fixed and he is finally able to make purchases. Support wouldn't tell him what was wrong or what they fixed or any actual information, but if they fixed it for him, hopefully one day they'll pay attention and start fixing it for the rest of us.
