My household has multiple Quest 2 devices. We use casting to Chromecast devices all the time. I personally use it to stream my Quest gameplay on Twitch and Facebook Live and have evangelized at least ten headset sales this way. My kids also use it to show off VR when their friends come over.

Your alternative solutions of casting to a mobile device or browser aren't good enough. This change has severely impacted our user experiences in a very negative way. We will not spend another dime on your platform or recommend your products unless this feature comes back.

Hi

Could you please enable casting to Chromecast like before directly instead of using phone app.

YES!!!! It was so simple and straight forward and now it's NOT!

Why would they remove it? So now the only way to cast to a tv is to cast to your phone first then mirror to a tv? And do you know what their intentions were or if they intend on bringing them back?

This is almost useless. Why would I ever want to cast to the meta quest app first and then to the tv? That adds considerable delay… Why making these product choices? 😂😂😂

Just so random… Makes no sense to me. I really don’t understand… They should listen to customers more!

Return casting to TV's and chromecasts? Why is it not a thing anymore?

Edit: What i mean by this, is that meta now suggests to cast to your phone with the meta app and than mirror (cast) that to your TV. Which is extremely inconvenient and makes no sense. It gives you double delay and double the hassle. FOR EXAMPLE i wanted to screen cast to my TV yesterday evening and found this out and stopped because my phone introduced other problems. It seems like meta is just too lazy to continue support for casting to devices other than their own.

Btw using the quest 3, so it could be that for quest 2 users it is not a problem.

Using out Quest 2 after being away for a month and now I can’t. So disappointing as this was a party game unit we used a lot for company and everyone can watch. Now we’re just watching someone flailing arms

Please bring back the ability to cast directly from the headset to a Chromecast. Not having this feature makes it a pain to share on what's going on on the TV.  If you're not going to bring back direct casting here are a few features that should be high on the list.

- enable casting directly from the app. Having to mirror ones display makes that persons phone useless and consume battery.

- create an app for Google TV or Apple TV that will allow for streaming from our streaming devices.

Most users are reporting that their Chromecasts devices are no longer a listed option when trying to Cast after upgrading their headsets to v60. I have purchased numerous Chromecasts and keep them in my travel bag so that I can showcase Meta Quest VR experiences on TVs. This has convinced several friends and family to get into the ecosystem. Having to use the Meta app on the phone ties up the phone, it is a small screen, and drains its battery
