Firmware Upgrade w/o Windows?

I'm about to get my DK2 - I have a Mac laptop and a Linux PC that I'll be deving with. Ignoring the lack of 0.4 SDK, is there any way for me to update the firmware w/o a Windows machine? Do the current batch of DK2s require an OOTB update?

How do I decrease Resolution in Unity3d
