Meta Quest mobile app is getting a new name and look

We’ve been making our mobile app better so you can explore experiences easier than ever, right from your phone. 

Here’s what’s new:

  • Dynamic self-expression: Easily refresh your avatar with regularly updated personalization options directly in the mobile app.
  • Explore worlds from your phone: Now you can jump right into new experiences from your mobile app, making it easier to connect with friends over music, games and everything you love.
  • Light mode: Introducing Light mode on the mobile app gives you a more accessible, comfortable and customizable viewing experience. You can update your look anytime from the settings menu in the app.


Don’t worry, we aren’t removing any features or functionality from the current app. You can still manage your headset and browse 500+ mixed reality apps and games from the Meta Horizon mobile app. 

You may need to update your app from your mobile app store, on Android and iOS, to see the latest updates.

      Anonymous  I have the same version..... but I don't have the feature.
      Before you ask..... yes, I uninstalled and reinstalled the app😅
      But like I said, might be a region thing
      Maybe here is somebody else from Germany and can tell if he has the feature?

        With the new Mobile app update, Samsung Gear VR no longer in the setup a device selection. I'm assuming Meta no longer supporting the headset.

          Anonymous Exactly, Gear VR was phased out since August 22 2017, Oculus Go setup is still possible.

            Hi guys i am visiting meta Horizon for since a year now  when you released  meta Horizon website, by the way i am from India and i just wanted to see how its like and i really like this platform we're people from different part of the world can meet but some times it hard to talk to people for some reson your app doesn't work with my  Earbuds mic  it caches my phones internal mic its too muddy and unclear to people its really frustrating this happens i dont know why, i have one or two request please fix the Bluetooth mic compatibility issue and add noice cancelation and if you add first person perspective to get the same felling as vr it would be greatest thing ever becouse some people complain that they get headaches or feel uneasy after sometime using vr this might help them and help me too

              How do you zoom in on an item in your gallery in the mobile app when selecting it? 

              Pinch to zoom or tap to zoom doesn't work in the Gallery section (like in pretty much all other mobile apps that have galleries / photos you can view (like Google Photos as an example).
