PC Software Build 25.0 Release Notes

These features and enhancements will become available starting the week of February 1st, 2021.

Oculus Link

  • You can now set your refresh rate to 80hz and 90hz when using Link with a USB-2 cable.
    • Keep in mind, that even with some of the newest and most powerful GPUs, maxing out values for the render resolution slider with a 90 Hz refresh rate may result in dropped or missing frames.
  • Fixed an issue causing Link to show a black screen after exit.
  • Reduced incidence of “Oculus Link is not working” errors that were happening on shut down.
  • Fixed numerous black screen issues that could prevent you from being able to use Oculus Link.
  • Fixed an issue where the new graphics settings in the Oculus desktop app weren’t showing for some people.

    R.I.P. Rift s

That's weird, my Rift S still seems to be alive.

What i ment was it does not exist to oculus any longer

Rift S is still available to purchase from the Oculus store, so reports of its death are a bit premature...

Rift platform received feature updates for 4 years. I don't know what you want. Rift platform will not die, the Oculus Link cable tabs into the Rift platform. It's just that the Rift hardware line will be discontinued. If you want PCVR from Oculus from the summer on, you'll need to get a Quest and Link cable. There is no visual difference, same lenses, and better resolution.

Software just updated, but still no go for 90Hz with USB 2.0 cable. Is there a way to check what version is installed? Under library > updates > whats new, it says v25. Does this mean I've gor v25 installed,, or just whats comming in next update?

In your Desktop App, go to "Settings", then click on "General" tab.
Scroll to the bottom for the version.................

    Awesome news!
I just got a message saying my CV1 hand tracking was disabled by mistake in V23. After much testing this was discovered and fixed.
Now...... where do I find the setting for this in my Rift CV1? (or do they not even bother to check for CV1 anymore before sending messages?)

Funny you mention that, I was just browsing the Quest store (on desktop) before and that dialog box popped up for me too. Thought it was a bit odd.
