I got a 3rd v51 PTC update today for my Quest Pro, including controller updates.  Tested out a few PCVR Rift, Steam, and VivePort games and a few sims like msfs, all using Air Link at 200mbps dynamic bitrate.  All seems fine, maybe starting up Air Link seemed a bit better/faster.

Ryanality: Does enrolling to the PTC gives you a priority status when it comes to rolling out features? I still cannot pin apps to my Universal Menu which was introduced in v47 (November 2022) and I also cannot launch 2D Apps while in a VR app (introduced in v50).

No, the PTC doesn't give any special priority on the rollout of features. But that's a good idea I'll share with the team.

i believe they removed the ability to pin apps to the menu right after releasing it. i could pin apps for about 2 days and it disappeared, never to return! it looks like it was replaced by being able to remove. apps from the menu, but who knows!

Thanks for your reply, but I can actually confirm this is not the case. On another family member's account (which is used exclusively on my Quest) the option to pin apps is still there. This account also has an "Auto-Correction" feature which is located under Settings -> System -> Keyboard, which my account doesn't have.

Air link still doesn't work correctly on the quest pro, when my quest 2 is connected to air link I will get between 105mb to 145mb link speed. Connect the quest pro to the same air link and the speed is only between 20mb to 60mb yet the pro has wifi 6. (Using Asus 3000ax dedicated router wired directly to the PC on the 5Ghz band)

I'd like to add on that it would be incredibly helpful for us as PTC testers to have a change log for things to test and stress.

The latest update (I installed Friday PM) did seem to solve my controller pairing issues, as well as speed up guardian recognition upon boot, though I have a strange intermittent bug which seems like a tracking error that leads to a crash, though there's no error message to confirm that.  All input freezes on the controllers & headset though animations persist while the screen sort of spins out of control and the only way to fix is holding the power button until reset.

In addition to the above, the sleep/wake issue is incredibly frustrating, though I have been able to personally mitigate it by pressing the power button before picking it up from the dock.

I got a 4th v51 PTC update on my Quest Pro headset and controllers today (no update with the oculus desktop app PTC beta v51).  All seems fine for me, mainly PCVR wireless with Air Link.

I'll try to remember to write down the exact version #'s.  Its v51xxxxxx for sure, lol!  Also, I'm on PTC with my Quest Pro (I stayed non-PTC on my Q2) so I'm not sure if the numbers would be the same with a Q2 on v51 PTC.

Meta seems to be pushing out v51 PTC updates fairly quickly (I've had 4x already) so just go into quick settings/system/update and check to see if an update is available.  I check this pretty well every day.

Now on the latest PTC build (4th release) and still the controllers disappear when exiting PCVR and only a complete shut down of the headset makes them visible again. Also air link on the quest pro is still only half the bitrate of the quest 2 using the same PC setup.

Actually, the hands without controllers looks better to me anyway.  I just wish it also got rid of the avitar arms, lol!

One new bug I noticed is that the option to have apps show 'installed' apps only works if you go to settings and set it by switching to 'All', then to 'installed'.  Unfortunately when I restart my QPro it goes back to 'All', even though the settings show 'installed'.  Not really a big deal for me since I only takes 2 seconds to manually select 'installed' anyway.

I haven't noticed lower bitrates with my QPro (v51 PTC) compared to my Q2 (v50) with Air Link.  I use 200mbps dynamic (using rift home dashboard menu) with both and typically see (from task manager) 145-170mbps with my QPro and 135-160mbps with my Q2.  I'm not sure why you'd see much lower bitrates with your QPro?  Maybe best to submit a meta support ticket with your logfiles and see if support can identify your issue.

I noticed the ability to filter by installed in the settings today and was really happy to have that default option.  When I set it, leave the settings section and open the show apps window, the results aren't filtered at all.  When I go back to the settings page, it is set to All again. So the setting isn't being saved or applied for my Quest 2 headset (yet). I shutdown and restarted today. no change.

What would happen if I did a factory reset whilst running v51 (ver4)...? was going to see if this solved my air link issues..??????

Moriarti4  Before trying a factory reset I’d download the oculus desktop app, run a repair, then opt into its public beta.

I can't see it being the windows app (already have the beta installed) and my reasoning is because my quest 2 gets between 100mb to 145mb..? but i'll give it a try tonight as it can't hurt..? What I find strange is a browser speed test (using the quest pro's browser) I get over 500mb downloads.???? This makes me think that it's a software issue with the headset not decoding the stream correctly...???

Has there been any movement on the "Controllers Will Not Connect" bug we've been experiencing? Is there a bug tracking number?  Last I heard, the bug had been replicated by the developers, and nothing new since then.

The most recent PTC update has some improvements targeted at fixing the tracking issue that was reproduced. They're looking to see how those changes have improved tracking and if anyone is still experiencing the trouble after getting the updates.

I've seen a couple tracking related issues which may have had different root causes, so the improvements that just came out may not fix all tracking problems for all people. Check for PTC updates and let us know if you're still having any tracking trouble so I can update the team. If you are having trouble, note which build you're on please!

For my issue of having 0 connectivity between the controllers and the Quest Pro, builds 168, 169, 170, 171, 173 have all been the same: no improvement.  I have rebooted both the headset and the controllers with each update.  I have not done a full re-pairing or full factory-reset with each update.  But if you need me to, I am happy to.  Just let me know.
