yes the factory reset kind of blows, but its similar to Windows that if you install a beta copy, and then upgrade to a full copy you dont always get a great machine, the secret sauce is to do a fresh install of windows. factory reset is not fun, but if it fixes the issue i would do it in a second. i understand you didnt have success but the clean install is normal for electronic devices with an OS

HI.
since the arrival of v54 ("stable" release) I too have problems with airlink and virtual desktop, I'm tempted to do the factory reset but it's still not clear if it solves the problem definitively. some users followed the advice given on reddit but after a while, the problem returned.
In all this story my thought is that Meta should take a nice bath of humility; recognize that v53 and v54 are two disasters and keep users going back to v51 until a working firmware is released.
But no. And out of presumption or carelessness, as things stand we will have to wait almost two months or first the whole PTC course of V55, then its public release (because we know very well that release date does not mean the date on which you will have it).
In all this, hoping that v55 fixes!
So dear Meta, why leave users with their fingers crossed when there is a working firmware (v51) and you can give it to us in the meantime to solve your problems?

Meta Quest 2 256GB, GC Nvidia GeForce RTX 3060, Intel 12th Gen Intel i5-12400F, 16Gb RAM, Windows 11 home 22H2. Connected with dedicated router via ethernet cat 6 with pc and to Quest 2 on wifi 5 ch 36

they are so quick to try and release new features with all these releases, not addressing problems that were introduced with the v53 and v54 should not be ok. maybe its one team working on both the new features and trying to fix bugs, bugs are just not being prioritized. maybe all those layoffs are not helpful. if v55 brings the extra horse power and fixes at least some(most) of the bugs I will be happy, but yeah this time period sucks.

Just logged into Quest 2 after a bit of layoff due to few new interesting games. First thing I noticed was my Guardian kept screwing up and I was either floating high in the air, or else in the ground. Then my hands started failing to track intermittently. Then the selection to move to the dots within my house would not appear. When I moved my head it blurred and dragged making me seasick. I checked and I got the V54 update. It has basically bricked my Quest 2. I tired many things to fix this to no avail. No, I’m not troubleshooting this for you. Pure junk release.

My experience was basically the same, guardian jumping up by itself after V54, this was solved by deleting saved room memory. Airlink unusable as every time you move with the headset it would get a seizure, I have two Q2 and it was identical on both, both fixed by updating to PTC v55. I have time to play only a few times a week, and I spend it all troubleshooting the headset, as usual, very happy customer here.
