I updated to PTC v54 and I encountered issues.

Whenever I press oculus button, my UI will crash, Meta logo appeared on screen, and replays boot sound 5 seconds later. A soft crash I suspected. Pusing power button alone also cause the said "soft crash", and I can only hard shutdown my device as a result.

I wanna opt out of PTC, WITHOUT factory reset. I don't need rollback, if it will factory reset my device.
Can someone confirm that I can opt-out from my mobile app, and it will NOT reset my device, as of 2023/05/14?

I can wait till there's a public v54, I just don't know the correct way to opt out without unknowingly got my device resetted...
Opt out of windows insider is much simpler...

Thanks.

Lying down mode disapeared from Accessibility section. Most of my interest in Meta Quest 2 comes from the fact that I would be able to do stuff while I'm lying down (with no wires, a soft strap and such). I was given that in v53 and v54 took it away from me again.

After updating to v54 my battery is draining really fast it used to give full 2 hrs back up and now it ends at 1hr and 20min.

also if i putting oculus 2 on charging green light never shows even after charging it for more than 2 hours

meta needs to fix this issue very annoying

hassanakram123  Ya, same problem with my Q2 since v51 final when OS updated to Android 12.  Still the same with v53 and v54ptc.  I keep sending in bug reports but nothing is fixed yet.  Pretty sure Android 12 has screwed up Q2 battery management.  Hopefully we’ll get a fix soon.  In the meantime I just use an external battery or the one with my Elite battery strap (which also doesn’t fully charge the headset battery much above 80%).  Seems to me that no one at Meta properly QC’s these updates, lol!

Got some WI-FI instability issues since v53, same in v54 ”Dropping of Wi-Fi connection” on the Quest Pro.

Using one SSID for 2,4 & 5 GHz (Unifi AP AC Pro access points), works fine with other devices. Get a feeling that the Quest Pro try to switch between the two bands and then fails. (Original Oculus Quest had a similar problem way ago.)

To solve it i created another SSID dedicated for VR to only use the 5 GHz band, no more Wi-Fi issues, stable and full signal strenghts all the time.

Same bad PCVR issues with v54!!!!! v53 is having problems also!!!! I NEED TO GO BACK TO v51!!!! i left the PTC as few weeks ago and went back to v51 and everything was GREAT untll the stupid autoupdate!!!!!!!  THIS IS B.S.!!!! I HATE THE QUEST 2 NOW!

What is this crap about not letting us use software that WORKS for our needs!  Meta does not care unless your using there software like Airlink which is far worse than anything else feature wise!

First, take a step back from the keyboard and breath. There, feel better? 🙂

Second, Quest headsets are no different then products form Apple/Samsung/Google, smart TVs or infotainment systems in cars. The hardware is either going to be catered to their specific software, or companies like Apple and BMW who only allow you to use specific features through their software and block other options. Every mainstream product is a "walled garden" these days. When picking a product, its up to you how high of a wall you're willing to deal with.

your first statement was good, after that you took a nose dive. he is right to want a working solution. they are pumping these updates out too fast for the stable channel. On the PTC i get it, problems are going to arise and to be expected, but if you are not on PTC but are getting buggy software they need to fix that immediately.

Sorry to hear about all your PCVR problems mate.  If you're on v54ptc maybe make sure your Oculus Desktop app is also on the public beta as well.  Except for the the minor battery management issue on my Q2, both my Q2 and QPro seem to be working fine with Air Link at 200mbps dynamic bitrate.

I guess all you can do is contact Meta support and start a ticket, including your log files.  Ranting about it multiple times on a user forum probably isn't very useful.  If you manage to sort this all out, please let us know.  Thanks.

I do not know what you have as hardware. With mine : i5-13600 & 3080 & ax55 routeur.

I can put on airlink 200 mbps dynamic bitrate plus a fixed 200 mbps and it is gorgeous !

I wouldn't be so pissed except for one simple fact.  WE TOLD THEM, ALL OF US, SO MANY OF US AT LEAST that this was an issue when v53 was on the PTC.  Some of us even replied that returning to v51 solved the issues.  But rather than do the smart and simple thing and delay or revert or even TEST some of this PCVR software they just rolled out new features that are basicly useless if the base software is garbage for various reasons.  Look i get it, not all software is going to work in all versions BUT when all the software you are using to interface with individual apps goes to **bleep**, it makes the whole expereince crap.  AND WE TOLD THEM!  Whats the point of a test server if they don't hear the testers.

Alternitively, if they just didn't FORCE us to update or didn't artificially prevent us from downgrading this wouldnt be a problem.  The real rub is that I manaualy disabled the Oculus update service as soon as I saw the dreaded update button light up but since there was already an update in the chamber , one minute im doing good, I get up to take a piss and then my quest 2 is basicly a buggy mess when i come back.  Think about how that feels.  If there was a viable alternitive at a reasonable price I'd jump ship right now but unfortunately there isn't.  And its not like were asking them to work hard , just the opposiate.  Were saying IT WASNT BROKEN, LEAVE IT ALONE or at least let us chose!

Seriously, v51 was absolutly perfect for me and so many others, now......   Well heres a middle finger right back at you.

Oh BTW, I even put in a ticket for a call back.. They called, the phone rang litteraly once, and i get an email saying my issue is resolved, At the very least i wanted to submit a second bug report through the call center but they even screwed that up.  Come on Meta , no wonder Carmack bailed

Holy **bleep**, I just said something similar to this. V51 awesome, V53 sucks for airlink. I'm wishing they would add a Roll back option. It seriously absurd that they offer PC VR without Roll back drivers options.

Hello,

v47 brings to me airlink stutters

v51 brings to me airlink connection troubles

v53 brings to me white pixels artifacts but it seems it has fixed the encoder stutters ! And to be honest, it is really something great because it was kind of invisible bug.
