v2.9 PTC Release Thread

The Public Test Channel (PTC) for Horizon OS v2.9 has started to roll out.

If you're seeing an issue or bug after updating:

1) For issues: Go to our Quest Forums and search for any existing thread on the issue, if you don't find one, make a new thread. Please add the tag "PTC v2.9" to the thread and in the title. This way everyone can look for PTC issues.

2) For bugs: If you come across a bug, please post each one you spot in its own thread, to keep track of individual issues separately. Please make sure to also send in bug reports along with posting on the forums if you notice anything going wrong.

Share your impressions in the comments below and let us know if you see any issues.

We know it's tough when you run into a problem on a PTC build and want to thank you all again for testing out PTC and sharing your feedback! This feedback is extremely helpful to our engineering teams. We appreciate your interest and persistence in testing out the core functionality of software as we develop!

        Yes, I am experiencing this same issue. And it is critical since the project is releasing in very few weeks...

          Last night I got v2.9 PTC and it worked fine. I am not sure if there was a small update last night but today I get visual errors when the headset goes into sleep mode and cames back out. There is a black void instead of menus on photos taken. I am on 5264196.1340.520. I have a video of the screen duplicating vertically and jumping about but I cant upload videos here.

            I cant get my headset to boot now. My last hope is factory reset.

            I have been downloading my apps and I have a 512G Quest 3 but when I get to 413G free downloads and installs fail and ask me to clear space for an 8G app. Is this another Meta oversight on v2.9 or is the memory in my Quest failing?

            When in meta chat call, the phone icon on the screen is able to be actioned directly when in game. This completely messes up in game play. Before to take action on that call icon you had to press the meta menu button first. 

            Now it just interrupts in game play all the time whenever your controllers point near it making for a horrible experience in game if in a call at same time.

             

            The old experimental option to hide chat camera functions is now in camera settings and enabling that just handles it from sharing screen/recording and not your own view so that doesn't mitigate the issue either
