v2.1 PTC Release Thread

The Public Test Channel (PTC) for Horizon OS v2.1 has started to roll out.

If you're seeing an issue or bug after updating to PTC v2.1:

1) For issues: Go to our Quest Forums and search for any existing thread on the issue, if you don't find one, make a new thread. Please add the tag "PTC v2.1" to the thread and in the title. This way everyone can look for PTC v2.1 issues.

2) For bugs: If you come across a bug, please post each one you spot in its own thread, to keep track of individual issues separately. Please make sure to also send in bug reports along with posting on the forums if you notice anything going wrong.

Share your impressions in the comments below and let us know if you see any issues.

We know it's tough when you run into a problem on a PTC build and want to thank you all again for testing out PTC and sharing your feedback! This feedback is extremely helpful to our engineering teams. We appreciate your interest and persistence in testing out the core functionality of software as we develop!

    So I saw this and thought lets see if mine updates and it did. And of course what do i find - the USB3 being detected as USB2 that first appeared in Oct 25 as part of V81 has still not been fixed. Placing my order for pimax.

      Nothing's fixed, the image still stutters and freezes. V85 and 2.1  Still the same problem with decoding the image. Instead, we have another update just to stop anyone from visiting previous threads on this ridiculous forum. I don't want to hear anymore meta fanboys saying everything is fine. I know how it was and how it should be. All my friends who own meta are having the same problem. For comparison, the Pico 4 Ultra for PCVR runs like a dream; high bitrates make everything smooth, sharp, and enjoyable. Performance is also better; the same settings as Quest 3, increased resolution and bitrate. I'm also placing an order for the Pimax Dream Air after many years in the VR world since the first CV1. I can't believe the legend of meta is falling before my eyes. Their software used to be the best, now it's a total tragedy and shame. It's a shame, Mr. Zuckerberg, that you allow such practices in your backyard...

    A couple apps were hard to start but installed and reinstalled then several app and headset restarts seemed to get them going but my pro is not on PTC but my quest 3 is.  Both got updates that said Ver 85 so I'm not sure if it was 2.0 or 85 that caused the issue. 

    The updates were ver 85 but I've gotten 2 updates of ver 2.1. First update stopped a couple apps from opening and the not enough memory thing again. Second update fixed apps that weren't working and haven't seen not enough memory thing. Did get a message of games not being used but I didn't get it all and not sure where to find where notification came from. No Navigator yet and Horizons Feed pops up at startup then vanishes.  Can't find it so I guess it's gone.

    does anyone else have trouble actually getting enrolled onto the PTC? the option isnt greyed out on the app but im still on V.85

      I've been a day 1 user on the Quest 1, 2 and 3, on the app my setting is green (enrolled into PTC) under advanced options, rebooted my headset a few times but same as you still stuck on v85. Usually I got PTC updates day one, but seems this time round the v2.1 is a rolling update, so still no update here (UK based).

    I enabled PTC in the link app and was updatet to v201.0.0.73.547

    I'm not complaining about..... link is working, but....

    ...... how ugly is that? 🙄  All it's missing is a snorkel and you start diving.

    I don't know anything, but I now have two main navigation interfaces and three quick launch options simultaneously. The Quest system is becoming an unparalleled work of art.

    I recently got version 2.1 (retail)... but NONE of the announced features are there... since v85!
    I know the features are being rolled out gradually, but this is ridiculous.
    Even the feed window appears on startup...

    So what's new in version 2.1? The version number? Pfft.

      I sympathize, unfortunately the OS update is in no way related to the features and even then what you get has no consistency.. I've had Navigator since v79, but I still don't have some features which are supposed to be there, like Meta AI. The only thing that is consistent about Meta updates is that it's inconsistent. Lol. I don't let it bother me anymore. Once I can play my games, I've stopped worrying about anything else. When it happens, it happens.. For the record, personally I preferred the old set up to the new Navigator.

        Well there are no changes because Mr Sucenberg! fired all the software staff and replaced them with his stupid AI and since then it's been stuck in a rinse and repeat cycle!! Take the game Population:One the background still has a Christmas theme..!!!, i've had 3 v2.1 updates and not a single one is any different from V85..????
