Hyperscapes BETA is a downgrade from the Preview app

Question

Im sure others will agree that not being able to carry over scans made in the preview app is a massive downer but I wanted to know if anyone else finds that the scans made in the preview app are miles better that scans made in the beta app? I scanned the same room twice for each app and even let a little more natural light in the beta scan and yet the quality seems super rough.&nbsp; I even did an external scan earlier today hoping the neutral lighting would aid the scan and I am utterlly dissapointed. I feel like we were promised gold in the preview app and now have fool's gold in its place :(

The scanning method is different between the Beta and the official version.

I tried scanning in the Beta, and I also tried it in the official version. If I remember correctly, the scanning process was indeed different.

I'm not really sure about the difference in quality though. ^^ It could be that the quality just looks different due to the change in the scanning method.

It's amazing that we can view Gaussian Splatting at that level of quality on Meta.

What do you mean by "official version" 🤔? There is currently only a Beta version.
The scans in the current Beta version are very nice and stable for me. There was an update in November that turned new scans into "Worlds" where you could navigate around using smooth locomotion. I used to get "unstable wifi" warnings in the old version, but I really like the update, it is much smoother and stable. The scanning quality appears to be about the same.
I noted that older scans cannot be accessed via the Beta capture app. I reported this to the official Developer Feedback Center a while ago.

Just tried it this morning and its working fine now. I am wondering if it was doing this becuase just because my friend was there lol. Having the extra devices on the wifi or something ya know. Glad I have my original scans back, just wish I could share them. Think we will ever have the option to make them our immersive home enviroment?

Your information is not correct. You can't make scans in the Preview app; that has never been a thing. The Preview app is for viewing only, and it has always been so. Only the Beta app can make scans.

I would be happy to share footage or screenshots I made from the preview app scans. You are correct in saying you can No Longer scan using the preview app but I assure you I was able and have about 4 scans in the app.
