Meta TV

Okay, for the most part, I like the most recent update, Meta Horizon OS version 79. I have not gotten the 81.0 yet, but not too concerned about that yet. But one app that seems to have been discontinued that I enjoyed is the Meta TV app. I'm really annoyed this one is gone because there were some really cool immersive videos on it that I really enjoyed, and now they appear to be gone as well. Ones that I had saved so that I can go back and enjoy watching them from time to time.
Some of the ones I saved are
Star Wars: Rogue One Recon
Hyperspace travel that had narration with Carl Sagan and Neil deGrasse Tyson(I don't recall the exact title)
Observing the Earth from the Observation dome on the ISS
And a couple of creative dance videos, I don't recall the titles or creators at the top of my head, but that is why I had them saved.
And if you are familiar with these and did what I did, experience Hyperspace while listening to Blue Öyster Cult. Then I believe you understand my frustration. You have not lived until you fly through Hyperspace while listening to Blue Öyster Cult.

    Hey there Coffeh2099

Thanks for reaching out. We're glad to hear that you enjoyed the Meta TV app and we completely understand your disappointment in learning that it is no longer available.

Not to worry though, we have an exciting new entertainment hub launching called Meta Horizon TV. We're partnering with the likes of Disney+, Universal Pictures and ESPN to bring you some of the best in movies, TV and sports. Now you can watch your favorite movies and shows with immersive special effects!

As you are on v.79, you'll be able to get the fully updated Meta Horizon TV experience!

      Not to worry?

I noticed you have not addressed the concern, and that was what about the saved content I had saved that I enjoyed? Also the were is the virtual content; all this you mentioned seems to be just being able to view a flat screen in the VR environment.
The immersive experience is kind of the point of the VR technology. We already have apps like Big Screen and others that allow us to watch TV and Movies in the VR world as it is, but it seems to be harder and harder to find all the immersive content. I don't want a fancy way to watch the same TV I watch in the real world; I want to fly through space faster than light, skydive from the edge of space, run through the forests of Pandora, and ride a Dragon through the sky.  not Meta Horizon TV stuff.

Thank you so much for sharing your thoughts with us, we truly appreciate your feedback and understand how disappointing it can be when a beloved feature like Meta TV is discontinued. It’s clear that it meant a lot to you, and we’re here to help you navigate what’s next.

While Meta TV will be no longer available in the future, the Meta Horizon TV app continues to offer a rich and immersive experience. You can still dive into films and shows from your favorite streaming services, catch live sports, attend virtual events, and explore captivating content that makes you feel part of the story.

If you’re looking for your previously created and saved files, they’re still accessible through the Files app. User-generated Quill animations will remain available in Horizon TV, though UGC video content will not be supported going forward. That said, Horizon TV still features a wide range of licensed immersive experiences and creative animations, so there’s plenty to discover and enjoy.
