Personalization home environment missing

After the v81 update, the new Immersive Home has completely replaced the old Horizon Home and removed the “Personalization” option. Honestly, this update feels like a downgrade. The previous Horizon Home was much better .. we could freely change virtual environments and enjoy a more personal, cozy space

Now the new immersive setup feels limited, with only a few scenery options and no customization freedom. Please bring back the old Personalization feature or at least add more environment choices and better video screen size adjustment. The new Immersive Home really sucks compared to the old one .. it took away what made Quest feel truly immersive and personal

  • I agree, not only do the only ones look sharper but they were way less intensive. I loved watching movies in the bubble void environment but now my battery life has shortened by about 50% id say and im stuck using either passthrough or the new forced environment.

      Hey there shani132 !

We saw you mentioned your battery life has cut in half, and we wanted to get in touch. We have a handy guide right here about maximizing the battery life of your headset.

If it seems like you're getting less than 90 minutes on a single charge, we'd love for you to get in touch with our support team so that we can look into this further for you.

We hope to hear from you soon!

this is about 50% of my usual battery life which would be in the bubble void environment in V79 which I could get about 3 hours of charge from, so i'm still getting 90ish+ mins of charge time but thats nothing compared to the simple void environment of the old version.

Yes, the resolution is very disappointing compared to the old environments. My battery life is ok, but the low res environments give me a headache if I look too long. I can't understand why it's so bad.

I used to use the Bubble Void environment and could quite consistently get 3 hours of watching movies on 1 charge but now I can barely get 2 if even that. The headset also gets a lot hotter than with the old environment.

  • Totally agree with you, Dhiraj.007 — the new Immersive Home just doesn’t feel the same anymore. The old Horizon Home had that cozy, personal vibe that made it fun to hang out in. Now it’s kinda bland and limited. Really hoping Meta brings back the freedom to customize soon!

It’s funny how taking away that sense of freedom changes everything. Even in real life, services like bail bonds tampa are all about helping people get their freedom back when things get tough. Hopefully Meta realizes how important that flexibility is and brings it back in the next update!

  • Agreed. I genuinely dislike the aesthetic of the new forced environment. Having the variety of environments to choose from was the very first thing i experienced when I bought my Quest 2 and was one of my favorite ways to match my mood.

less than a month after getting the Quest 3 that's taken away, and I'm now stuck in a bland room with unwelcome portal, Instagram integration, and a mirror that I normally would turn off.

Suddenly the Quest has lost a ton of personality and now I'm just sitting in passthrough mode all the time.

I can see the point of adding a new 'main' environment with enhanced features, but leave the old ones in place for users who aren't interested. Options are always good.

Honestly, I've also only been using passthrough now.

  • I think these new environments are a downgrade. Is there at least some way of removing the mirror and the meta portal thing? I'm really never going to use that and have already experienced a bit of a struggle to remove the noodle arms.

Yes. Anchor an app right in front of the mirror and portal so you can't see them 😁.

  • Is there seriously no way to get the olds/a custom enviroment? I honestly despise the low-graphks asthetics thst are going on in this new update. I'm a new vr user and honestly the possibility of personslizing my enviroment was one of the main reasons I got the headset, so I'm kinda dissapointed by this... Why on earth would they remove one of the MAIN features of vr??

I know, it's sad, but they're gone. Maybe one day, we'll see it again. Anyway there are worst things in the world my friend! Don't sweat the small stuff and have a Happy and prosperous New Year! 😊
