Meta display won't turn on

I got got 2 pair of them, one for my brother and one for myself as it was limited to one per customer.

One of them is working fine and loving it, but the other one won't turn on. I've tried the restore or reset, holding the camera button five or six times and then holding it, I've tried with one leg open, bout close and open, holding the camera and then turning on the lenses and nothing seems to turn the led on, not even when charging.

What else can I try?

    Hi there eriktovar,

We noticed your post and would love to lend a hand to get your new Meta Ray-Ban Display up and running.

Here are a few troubleshooting steps to try out.

It is recommended to charge the case with glasses inside whenever not in use. Using the case is the only method to charge glasses.

    • Leave glasses inside the case and charge for 30 minutes.
    • Slide the power switch towards the lens in the ‘on’ position. The LED will blink white.
    • If glasses do not turn on, place the glasses back into the case and:
    • Try a different outlet.
    • Try a different cable.
    • Try a different charger / USB-C charging block.

Another issue that I have is that it won't let me sync two pair of meta displays, one is the limit. Can I bypass this limitation of when will be able to pair more than one?

      Hi Erik,

      Thanks for your reply.

You can charge it with the other case you have. Please also try the troubleshooting steps provided when you are able to.

I have the same problem. Have tried everything with charging and reset. Cannot get glasses to turn on. No led at all when toggling on off switch. Before today they worked fine for a few days.

  • I'm away from home and only have one of the case chargers, does it have to be the same case it came with?

Ive been charging the lenses with the only one I have and the lenses that are not working, are not using the orinal one

  • The Meta Display Glasses are limited to one pair each person in sale. I hope there is also a software restriction to ensure a fair distribution and not a few people hoarding all of it... However:

Case and glasses belong together and I have only had that issue with not turning on once and that was because glasses and case were completely discharged.

Put the glasses in the proper case and plug the case to USB and let both charge for an hour (Glasses sliderbutton turned off (red visible)).

Deinstall and reinstall the app meanwhile.

Then hold the capture button and turn it on again (hold button until you see the light).

Log into the app an pair the glasses.

    Everything should be fine again.

Thanks for your reply. When you say "until you see the light" you mean more than a minute or two?

I've tried holding it for more than 20 to 30 secs but will try to hold it longer

  • You're welcome.

Usually only a couple seconds. Maximum five seconds maybe.

But obviously your glasses seem to have another issue...

Maybe go to the shop where you bought them or had your demo and ask there for help? Remote diagnosis are always a little tricky.

I am sorry to not be able to give you better advice :(
