Question

Account purchase restriction

Hello Meta Support Team,

I'm experiencing an issue with my Meta account and I would really appreciate some assistance.

Whenever I try to purchase a game through the Meta Quest Store website on my PC, I receive the following error message:

"We noticed something unusual and, for your security, this request couldn't be completed. Please appeal so your case can be reviewed."

I have successfully made purchases with this account in the past without any issues.

When I attempt to make a purchase, my bank sends me a payment authentication notification. I approve the transaction through my banking app, but immediately afterwards, the same security restriction message appears again.

The main problem is that:

  • I have not received any email from Meta regarding this restriction.

  • I have not received any notification explaining what is wrong with my account.

  • I have not been asked to provide any documents or complete any identity verification.

  • There is no appeal button or appeal form available on my account.

  • I can still access my account, view my previous purchases and manage my payment methods normally.

There is also another issue: Meta regularly asks me to identify or verify a Meta Quest headset associated with my account. However, I do not own a Meta Quest headset. I use a Sony PlayStation VR2 connected to my PC through the official PC adapter and SteamVR.

The Meta Quest store only supports Meta VR headsets.

There is no way you could have ever downloaded a game from the Quest VR store without having a Quest VR headset.

    I smell....…
