Question

Golf+- Help with game play.

In real life I play to a scratch, sometimes better sometimes a little worse.  I cannot seem to aim with Golf+ (quest2).  Drives slice every time although I can keep in fairways about 60% of the time, so it’s more of a fade.  Even adding draw to it.  Little wedge shots pull to left as well.  Is there something I’m doing wrong?  Any way to tweak it?  I know it’s not real and it’s for fun, just wondering.

Have youvused the adjust you swing option. It's just how your club face arrives to the ball. I literally had to set a 14 degree close club face and now I hit straight shots and can even shape them my self. I use my own jury rigged extension.

I've tried without success but maybe I need to test more settings. Thanks for sharing that!

Standing to close? To far? From the ball/ hard for me to gauge in virtual

Alright.. I got a somewhat solution… on driver put the ball wayyyy upfront.  Instead of feeling like it’s inside front foot, have the feeling it’s a foot past that . 💪🏼🏌️‍:male_sign:🏌️‍:male_sign:

I got one of the Deadeye and better than my one using the kiddie putter as far as attaching but doesn't have thebaamw weight or "toe". Those who are actual golfers will understand how the weight or the club head itself and weight is what helps close the club face when you swing.  I did add some weight to it by using one of those practice swing weighted "donuts" you slip down the shaft. By pulling the Velcro straps through it and back up through the Oculus it is secure and even did a couple of wraps of the lead tape you can get at a golf shop around the Deadeye control holder. I'm going to try and put some of the tape on top of the hoop of the controller to try and give the effect of the "toe" on a club but have to make sure I don't cover a sensor. Will look for something that I can easily put on an take off.

I have the same problem. I am wondering too.

I'm having the same issues as well. I even purchased an attachment from helloreal and I'm still driving the ball terribly. The only solution I have found to work is to swing 1 handed. I think the issue is doing a full swing, how would the Oculus cameras track that?

Got my slice down to a slight fade and my scores have dropped a lot now even with clubface set to neutral. Contacted Oculus support and they told me because the controller is light we tend to get our hands through the ball too quickly so I started swinging with my arms more and concentrated on club face angle. This seemed to work for me.

Hi everyone, does someone know how to quit the game Gof + without restarting the headset? Thanks

Hi RDignard! We're happy to answer your question about quitting an app. Anytime, you can press the Oculus button on your controller to bring up the menu. Then just select "Quit." That'll quit the app and bring you back to Home. If this isn't working for Golf+ or you have more questions, we're here to help anytime. Thanks!

Why don’t you answer the hundreds of comments about slicing the ball that EVERYONE seems to be experiencing?

So far I found it to be very realistic (ameteur mode). I normally push the ball right and Golf+ replicates that. The same real life grip, setup and swing remedies for my natural push work in Golf+. Some things I do: (1) Check your club distance to the ball at address, when your club head touches the ground the controller vibrates, this should happen right behind the ball. (2) Touch the ball with the club face at address, the ball will fall off the tee (or nudge forward on fairway) and a menu will appear giving you the option to reset the ball without penalty, just click YES, this allows you to confirm clubhead position at address. (3) Use the "replay" last shot feature to confirm your swing plane and clubhead position by manually advancing frame by frame. Move to any position using the joystick and review your swing. (4) If you're using just the controller or a light grip attachment your swing may be different than with a real club, maybe try a heavier grip attachment.

How, well done. Very nice info. I will try this soon. I have not had any time to play since I Pat posted.

How do you swing compared to your normal swing?? do you swing slow and easy ?

I can't really say how my swing in Golf+ compares to my actual swing, I'll have to video it and do a side by side comparison. Golf+ shows your swing plane, speed, head position, etc. and seems to be accurate, so you can see if you're swing is outside / in causing a push or slice or otherwise. I have my avatar set up and I suggest doing that, not sure what Golf+ shows if you haven't set your avatar. I also suggest resetting the ball position by holding the club in the address position and clicking the A button on the controller. Be sure the clubhead is positioned on the floor where you would actually set the ball before you hit the A button, and be sure you see the yellow circle appear and place it where you want the ball to lie at address, if you hold the club to high you won't see the yellow circle. Another nice Golf+ feature is the "mulligan" - press the B button and it lets you hit again from the same spot - great way to make adjustments to your swing. There are many subtleties that affect the accuracy of Golf+ and I'm learning about them on the fly - I haven't found a comprehensive user manual. Correcting my actual real life bad habits do work to correct my natural push in both real life and Golf+ . Here are some beginner bad habits I try to avoid: 1. be sure you have a correct "loose" grip, especially don't over power with the right hand. I have a tendency to grip way to tight. 2. keep your weight on the balls of your feet at address to prevent falling back on your heels. 3. slow, smooth swing with steady tempo. 4. keep your head down eyes on the ball. let your shoulder turn pull your head around to face the target, 5. Complete a full shoulder turn and follow thru with your with your eyes and shoulders facing the target at the end of the swing and hold this position with the club behind you until the ball lands, 6. Complete the swing "arc" around the body, don't "stand up" or let the club "exit" the swing plane after contact. I know this is beginner golf stuff but it works for me in Golf+ and in real life. There are many great youtube vids that I've watched to help improve my swing. Hope this helps some beginners.

I purchased the VR golf club attachment and prefer to play that way.  If you don't want to do that I suggest on full shots just use your trail arm, while swinging try to minimize your wrist from cocking and just swing more dead handed on full shots.  You also can go into settings and adjust your clubs.  You can change the length and also the face of the club to closed or open and see if that might help.  The closer I get to the green the more I am apt to use both hands ie pitching, chipping and putting.  I still hit bad shots on from time to time but that is more of a path issue say pulling across my body or not finishing with my torso to the target.  I am just playing Novice for now but probably will move to Amateur as to make the experience more realistic once I am more comfortable with the experience.

This is a real problem. Look at this near perfect swing, you can see it's straight lined up with the ball delivery box. But yet the game thinks I'm swinging out to in. And the club head is leaning WAYYYYY back! Putting the club in the position to match that club head, the shaft is like 45 degrees back! There's no way I'm swinging like that.
