Edit 30 September 2025: The list has been updated by deleting some games which turned out to be mediocre at best and adding upcoming games which hopefully will turn out better.

In just a month, it'll be 2025, and we already know of many PCVR games which will arrive next year, so I'll start a bit early on this post 🙂

GORN 2 has just been announced, but kinda looks like a low-end Quest game to me - but the first game looks much the same:

    Find the game here:

    https://store.steampowered.com/app/3391450/GORN_2/

This is GORN 1 - about 7 years old, runs on a GTX 970:

Oculus Rift CV1, Valve Index & PSVR2, Asus Strix OC RTXâ„¢ 3090, i9-10900K (5.3Ghz), 32GB 3200MHz, 16TB SSD "Ask not what VR can do for you, but what you can do for VR"

A new Slender VR trailer - but looks low-res to me (note the shimmering textures in the trailer indicating very low res), I do hope the game isn't getting heavily Questified or I'll have to pass:

Still does look like the PCVR, surely Quest 3 has not chance rendering many trees and leaves, but the game does leave some old-school and simplistic impressions - looks dated. So better await reviews before buying. 2c.

Oculus Rift CV1, Valve Index & PSVR2, Asus Strix OC RTXâ„¢ 3090, i9-10900K (5.3Ghz), 32GB 3200MHz, 16TB SSD "Ask not what VR can do for you, but what you can do for VR"

New gameplay trailer from Ghost Town. Unfortunately the game also arrives for the extremely low-end Quest standalone hmds, and I do hope that will not ruin the high-end PCVR and PSVR2 versions too much:

Oculus Rift CV1, Valve Index & PSVR2, Asus Strix OC RTXâ„¢ 3090, i9-10900K (5.3Ghz), 32GB 3200MHz, 16TB SSD "Ask not what VR can do for you, but what you can do for VR"

Some new stuff - the AAA game F1 2025 will again support VR 30 May 2025:

The game is ready for pre-order here - but I'd await reviews:

    https://store.steampowered.com/app/3059520/F1_25/

Another interesting VR game is Out of Sight - coming 22 May:

    Find the game here:

    https://store.steampowered.com/app/3558720/Out_of_Sight_VR/

A personal favorite of mine is Aces of Thunder - I hope the game is just 50% as good as this new gameplay trailer 🙂

Find the game here - release date sometime this year:

    https://store.steampowered.com/app/2754090/Aces_of_Thunder/

Last, but no least, No Man's Sky was just updated with a new expansion named RELICS:

Right now the game is 60% off:

This just arrived much out of nowhere on Steam - and looks potentially awesome:

    https://store.steampowered.com/app/3390230/Secrets_of_Antares/

Maybe just a walking sim, but done right that may not be a bad thing. Recommended specs are high though - I guess there's no such thing as free lunch...:

    RECOMMENDED:

      • Requires a 64-bit processor and operating system
      • OS: Windows 10, Windows 11
      • Processor: Intel Core i7 13700 or AMD Ryzen 9 7900X
      • Memory: 32 GB RAM
      • Graphics: NVIDIA 4070 or AMD 7900XT
      • DirectX: Version 12
      • Storage: 120 GB available space
      • VR Support: Quest 2, Quest 3, Valve Index, Mixed Reality, Vive
      • Additional Notes: SSD and strong VR legs required
Oculus Rift CV1, Valve Index & PSVR2, Asus Strix OC RTXâ„¢ 3090, i9-10900K (5.3Ghz), 32GB 3200MHz, 16TB SSD "Ask not what VR can do for you, but what you can do for VR"

Looks good to me - even if it's 120GB install size:

    https://store.steampowered.com/app/3390230/Secrets_of_Antares/

Have been using Realms of Flow for some mindfulness, but exploring a full planet with no enemies does sound even more relaxing and non-stressful 🙂

And after all those years waiting, finally I get to cook! Release date 24 April (this year):

    Find the game here:

    https://store.steampowered.com/app/1394470/Umami_Grove/

Oculus Rift CV1, Valve Index & PSVR2, Asus Strix OC RTXâ„¢ 3090, i9-10900K (5.3Ghz), 32GB 3200MHz, 16TB SSD "Ask not what VR can do for you, but what you can do for VR"

Note that Umami Grove originally was made ground-up for PCVR, but the devs recently announced a Quest port - which got me nervous about the PCVR version being dumbed down to the ultra-low-end Quest standalone levels - fortunately that will not be the case according to the dev, who replied to me on Reddit:

"Thank you for the interest! The Quest version is entirely separated from PC. I've been targeting the 1080 series which was struggling a bit with higher shadow quality but I'll revisit the performance impact. Either way I'll include an option for it in the graphics settings."

So everything looks potentially good - and there's no way the Quests' phone gpus can run this amount of 3D grass and more:

The game has been at least 5 years in the making - I made this thread about the game in 2021:

Oculus Rift CV1, Valve Index & PSVR2, Asus Strix OC RTXâ„¢ 3090, i9-10900K (5.3Ghz), 32GB 3200MHz, 16TB SSD "Ask not what VR can do for you, but what you can do for VR"

Kinda a suspected unexpected game, but I did think Cyborn, known for Hubris, would not cut off the high-end VR marked - and they did not:

The game Wall Town Wonders was first made for Quests and MR, but has now been fully converted and greatly enhanced for VR. Recommended specs are:

    Recommended:

      • OS: Windows 10 +
      • Processor: Core i5-11400 / Ryzen 5 7600
      • Memory: 16 GB RAM
      • Graphics: RTX 2070
      • DirectX: Version 12
      • Storage: 10 GB available space
      • VR Support: OpenXR - Meta Quest 3s, Meta Quest 3, Meta Quest 2, Meta Quest Pro, Oculus Rift S, Valve Index, HTC Vive, HTC Vive Pro, Vive Cosmos, Pico 4, Pico 4 Ultra

Note that the Quest version used your own walls for the game and therefore the low-end standalone gpus did not have to render the entire room. Focusing only on a few limited elements, Cyborn could make good use or the very limited standalone gpu power. Now with high-end VR, Cyborn does not need any MR to lower gpu demands, but can create a fully immersive environment. Find the game here:

    https://store.steampowered.com/app/3570400/Wall_Town_Wonders/

Screenshots by the devs - the game is expected later this year:

Oculus Rift CV1, Valve Index & PSVR2, Asus Strix OC RTXâ„¢ 3090, i9-10900K (5.3Ghz), 32GB 3200MHz, 16TB SSD "Ask not what VR can do for you, but what you can do for VR"

Gorn 2 is out and is now close to a 90+ % average positive rating based on 80 reviews:

    https://store.steampowered.com/app/3391450/GORN_2/

Coming from the grandeur of Behemoth, Gorn 2 really looks low-end and much too exaggerated for the violence and blood to me, but I might support the game if ratings are at 90+ % when getting 100 reviews. Also the game has been greatly enhanced for high-end VR. Recommended specs are:

    Recommended:

      • Requires a 64-bit processor and operating system
      • OS: Windows 11 x64 Bit
      • Processor: Intel Core i5-10600K / AMD Ryzen 7 2700
      • Memory: 16 GB RAM
      • Graphics: Geforce RTX 2080 / Radeon RX 5700 XT
      • DirectX: Version 12
      • Storage: 5 GB available space
      • VR Support: Supported Headsets: Quest 3, Quest Pro, Vive Pro, Valve Index, Oculus Rift, Oculus Rift S, Vive Cosmos, PSVR2
      • Additional Notes: Producing 80+ FPS | SSD Recommended

An RTX 2080 has the power of about 5 standalone Quest 3 hmds working in parallel. Also note the nice dynamic shadows in the PCVR version. According the UploadVR, "performance drops are noticeable on Quest 3 that aren't present with the Steam release" - but that's of course understandable if using a phone gpu for VR gaming (Quest 3 uses the Adreno 740 phone gpu).

Oculus Rift CV1, Valve Index & PSVR2, Asus Strix OC RTXâ„¢ 3090, i9-10900K (5.3Ghz), 32GB 3200MHz, 16TB SSD "Ask not what VR can do for you, but what you can do for VR"
