Question

Unauthorised in-app purchase by my child refund request

Hi

My child guessed my pin and made several in app purchases without my permission. All within about an hour on 23rd October 2025. 

9 purchases from ingame purchase options I am a Cat all $5.99 each. 

 

I’ve taken him off the device until I can change the pin and remove the card. 

I’d like these reviewed as unauthorized purchases by a minor and refunded. Thank you.

    HOWEVER, I don’t believe Meta Store is able to refund in-game purchases. You might have to try to contact the developer of I am Cat.

      Can't be done here unfortunately as we are just users. No Meta staff here. Once your pin was used they are not unauthorised. You are responsible for keeping your account protected, so it's an authorised purchase by an adult. ​@steve40 suggests contacting the developer as Meta are just the middle man here. You can change your payment method, remove the pin authorization from the headset and set it to receiving a pin code via email so you can control it. Be aware, that since Meta just paid hundreds of millions of dollars in fines for not being careful with underage accounts, there is a responsibility placed on you as a parent in the terms of use. Not supervising your child's use can result in a ban on your account.
