link connects and disconnects continuously after months of smooth usage (started with 208 update)

whats going on Meta? 
and why you dont allow going back versions?
I used quest3 with usb (meta) cable for months with no issues (most of the times) and since the last horizon app update it just wont stay connected and goes back to quest home (the usual windows chime sounds of a USB device connected and disconnected). Its definitely not the cable (I even bought another one) , definitely not the USB port (tried different ones) what the hell changed???
