How will Quest 2 compatible, Quest 1 incompatible update be handled for Quest 1 players?

Hello,

We're about to push an update to comply with the new user reporting requirements for our game, but the update will no longer be compatible with Quest 1.  Will our Quest 1 players be able to keep their existing version, and what will happen for reinstalling/new Quest 1 players?  Will they just get the latest compatible version on the release channel?
