Chinese translation option missing in Australia despite latest firmware and app
Hi everyone,
I'm hoping someone from Meta or the community can help.
I have a brand new pair of Ray-Ban Meta glasses, the latest Meta AI app, and the latest firmware installed. My phone is a Xiaomi 17 Ultra running HyperOS, and I'm located in Australia.
The problem is that Chinese does not appear as an available language in the Live Translation settings. I only see the standard six languages (French, Italian, Spanish, etc.).
What's confusing is:
- The latest Meta update notes mention Chinese translation support.
- I've seen an in-store demo in Australia (at Sunglass Hut) where Chinese translation was available and working completely.
- My glasses and app are fully up to date.
So far I've tried:
- Updating the Meta AI app to the latest version.
- Updating the glasses firmware.
- Rebooting both the phone and glasses.
- Re-pairing the glasses.
- Enabling Developer Mode.
- Confirming Meta AI is enabled.
My questions are:
- Is Chinese Live Translation being rolled out gradually in Australia?
2. Is this feature tied to the Meta account rather than the glasses?
3. Has anyone in Australia successfully enabled Chinese translation, and if so, how?
Any help or confirmation from Meta would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!
