Different Serial number

Hello guys, is it normal to have different serial on the box for meta display and another serial for glasses itself because yesterday I went to Best Buy to return the glasses because my band was little tight and Best Buy return me saying there is two different serial number and can’t process return. Please help me out here

I don't have AI Glasses, but on the Quest 3 the box serial number is the whole "kit" which includes headset, 2 controllers and a charger. The individual devices have their own serials.

So for the Display glasses I would imagine the box number is also the "kit" - glasses, wrist band and charger. The glasses and wrist band will have their own separate serial numbers.

Meta tends to only accept the box s/n on their support website.

    I have the same problem I tried to return mine at bestbuy and come to find out the box didn’t match the glasses serial number, and now I can’t return it.

    Tell them the serial numbers are supposed to be different! The box is the "kit" with multiple devices bundled together.

    How to resolve this with Best Buy:

    • Show them the Meta App: Open your Meta View app, go to Settings > General > About. This screen explicitly lists all three numbers together: the Kit SN, the Glasses SN, and the Case SN under your single account. This is proof that your specific glasses belong to that specific kit.
    • Explain the "Kit vs Component" system: Politely point out to the customer service agent (or ask for a manager) that Meta uses a bundle/kit serial number for the box barcode, meaning no Meta Ray-Ban box will ever match the numbers on the actual glasses inside.
    • Check the receipt: Look at your original Best Buy receipt. Retailers usually scan the outer box barcode (Kit SN) at checkout. If the number on your receipt matches the number on your box, you have proof of purchase for that exact package.
