Question

Gen 2 flashing capture light has made these unusable for weddings

I literally bought my Ray-Ban Meta Gen 2 glasses yesterday specifically for my wedding celebrant business and unfortunately I’m already looking at returning them for a refund

The whole reason I bought these was to offer couples a POV video as part of their wedding package. The couple knows they are being recorded and actually signs a contract giving consent for the footage

I specifically checked the recording light before buying them and was told it remained solid white during video. Ray-Ban’s own information also says the capture light is solid white while recording

Instead mine flashes on and off approximately every second for the entire recording

For a wedding ceremony this is incredibly distracting. I’m standing right in front of the couple during their vows and the last thing I want is a bright white light constantly flashing beside my eye and taking them out of the moment

I also work alongside professional photographers and videographers who can work around a constant solid white light but a light flashing every second during the ceremony is a completely different issue

I’m not asking Meta to let us turn the privacy light off. I completely understand why the recording indicator needs to be there

I’m simply asking for the option to have it remain SOLID WHITE while recording video like Ray-Ban’s own information says it should

Is there any way to change this back to solid white or is Meta considering adding this option?

If not unfortunately I’ll have to return the glasses because I bought them specifically for this purpose and can’t use them like this
