Lost or Possibly Stolen Oakley Meta Vanguard: Can Meta Check Activity by Serial Number?
I recently lost my Oakley Meta Vanguard glasses and still have the serial number from my receipt. Is there any way for Meta to determine whether the glasses have subsequently been activated, paired with another account, or connected to a network? Can Meta review any recent device activity, approximate location information, or Internet Protocol address history associated with the serial number?
I contacted Oakley, but I was told that I would need to speak with Meta about the device technology. I have not been able to find a Meta customer-service telephone number or a clear procedure for reporting Meta glasses as lost or stolen.
The Meta AI app currently shows only “Not Connected,” and it does not provide a last-known location or any apparent way to mark the glasses as lost. I am very disappointed that a device costing approximately $600 does not appear to offer a clear theft-reporting, remote-locking, or recovery process, particularly since the additional protection plan I purchased does not cover loss or theft.
The glasses are Oakley Meta Vanguard, model OW8001, purchased in May 2026. I can provide the serial number privately to an authorized Meta representative. I would appreciate clear guidance on whether Meta can:
- Flag the serial number as lost or stolen.
- Determine whether the glasses have been activated or paired since they went missing.
- Preserve or review any available connection, account, location, or network records.
- Prevent the glasses from being paired with another account.
- Provide a direct support channel for this type of report.
Thank you.
