Meta AI app unusable after importing a 30s 3K video – crash loop, overheating and 50GB+ cache

Hi everyone,

I'm having a serious issue with the Meta AI app when using my Ray-Ban Meta Wayfarer Gen 2.

My setup:

  • Ray-Ban Meta Wayfarer Gen 2
  • Xiaomi Redmi Note 13 Pro+ 5G
  • HyperOS 3.0.301.0
  • Android 16
  • Build: BP2A.250605.031.A3

The problem started when I tried to import a single 3K video of about 30 seconds.

During the import:

  • The phone gets noticeably hot around the camera/SoC area.
  • The Meta AI app crashes.
  • The Android/HyperOS interface also seems to restart: the screen briefly goes blank, then the home screen and icons start loading again.
  • This can repeat in a loop.

I also noticed that when the import fails, the temporary cache created by Meta AI does not seem to be deleted. After repeated failed attempts, the Meta AI app had accumulated **more than 50GB of cache**.

The situation has now gotten worse: the Meta AI app is currently unusable. Every time I open it, it immediately enters the same crash/restart loop, even when I'm no longer manually trying to import the video.

I already submitted a bug report through the Meta AI app.

Has anyone experienced something similar, especially on Xiaomi/HyperOS devices?

Is there a safe way to stop the pending import/process or reset the Meta AI app without risking the media that is still stored on the glasses?

Any help would be appreciated.

Ray-Ban Meta Wayfarer Gen 2

Xiaomi HyperOS 3.0.6.0

Android version 16

I also just noticed that the MetaAI app takes up 192 GB Storage
