Meta AI v280 crashes on iPhone 11 (iOS 17.7.2), can’t access Ray-Ban Meta videos
Hello everyone,
I am experiencing a serious issue with the Meta AI app, and after several days of troubleshooting I have completely run out of ideas.
My setup:
- iPhone 11
- iOS 17.7.2
- Meta AI app version 280
- Ray-Ban Meta Smart Glasses
The problem
The Meta AI app crashes immediately after launch.
I only see the Meta logo for about one second, then the app closes every single time. It never reaches the main screen.
Because of this I cannot:
- access my glasses,
- check battery or settings,
- import photos and videos that are still stored on the glasses.
Important details
The glasses themselves appear to be working normally.
- They power on.
- They automatically reconnect to my iPhone via Bluetooth.
- I can listen to music through them.
- Voice functions still appear to work.
The only thing that does not work is the Meta AI application.
What happened
While I was using the glasses they suddenly played a sound, showed a red LED and powered off.
After charging them they turned on normally again.
When I opened the Meta AI app to check the battery level, I discovered that it immediately crashes on launch.
I honestly do not know whether the crash started at that exact moment or after a recent Meta AI update because I had not opened the app for some time.
Things I have already tried
- Restarted iPhone.
- Restarted glasses.
- Fully charged glasses.
- Deleted and reinstalled Meta AI.
- Updated Meta AI from version 279.1 to 280.
- Confirmed Bluetooth connection still works.
- Verified I have plenty of free storage.
- Installed Meta AI on another Android phone.
The Android app works, but since the glasses are already paired with my iPhone, the Android app only offers to “Add glasses” by putting them into pairing mode.
I do NOT want to do that, because I have important videos on the glasses and I am afraid they could be erased during a reset or re-pairing process.
Crash log
iOS generates a crash log every time.
The crash reports:
Termination Reason: DYLD
Symbol not found: _quick_exit
This looks like the application crashes before the user interface is even loaded.
Questions
Has anyone experienced exactly this issue?
Is this a known compatibility problem with iOS 17.7.2 or the recent Meta AI versions?
Most importantly:
Is there ANY safe way to recover the photos and videos from my glasses without resetting or re-pairing them?
I have already contacted Meta Support and MetaStoreHelp, but unfortunately I have not received a response yet.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you.
If a Meta employee sees this post, I can provide the complete crash log, serial number of the glasses, and any additional diagnostic information.
