Mic issues on Meta Ray-ban Display

Hi! I have been using it daily since October and I love the day to day with it on my updated Android. This morning I ran into a problem: the microphone on my glasses stopped working on my phone. My main case of wearing glasses is still using them as a headset for calls and sending voice messages.

It is updated to the last version available. I've tried factory restoration (also unpair and re-pair) and nothing. I already had a first generation with a very similar problem, but there it was possible to remedy the problem by activating an option in the app settings. However, we do not have that option here.

Anyone else with this problem and/or solution?

Go to: Device settings

Then scoll down. Not to "Audio" but the "resolve microphone issue".

Untoogle the switch for "microphone adaption"

You're welcome

This option doesn't exists on Display version.

But, i've received an app notification telling me to try to use hands-free communications again. I've just did it and it works again

I’m having the same issue out of the blue with my displays. If I make or receive a call, the person on the end can’t hear me. My software is up to date. What should I do?

This issue is usually caused by an Android Bluetooth microphone/profile problem after an update.

Try these fixes:

  1. Go to Settings β†’ Bluetooth β†’ Your Glasses
    Make sure:
  • Calls = ON
  • Audio = ON
  1. Clear Bluetooth cache:
Settings β†’ Apps β†’ Show system apps β†’ Bluetooth
    Then:
  • Clear Cache
  • Clear Data
Restart phone and pair glasses again.
  1. During a phone call, manually select the glasses as the audio/microphone source.
  2. Disconnect other Bluetooth devices temporarily (watch, earbuds, car audio, etc.).
  3. Check app permissions:
Settings β†’ Apps β†’ Glasses App β†’ Permissions
    Enable:
  • Microphone
  • Bluetooth/Nearby devices
  1. Test the mic in different apps:
  • Phone calls
  • WhatsApp voice notes
  • Recorder app

If the mic still doesn’t work:

  • Test the glasses on another phone.
  • If it works there β†’ Android issue.
  • If not β†’ possible hardware/firmware issue.

Most likely cause:
Android switched the Bluetooth profile after the update and stopped using the glasses microphone properly.

Has anyone found a solution for this issue aside from replacing the glasses? Mine are prescription
