Ray-Ban Meta Gen 2 Causing Ear Pain and Skin Irritation

Dear Ray-Ban Meta Support,

I purchased a Ray-Ban Meta Gen 2 on 26 March 2026.

Since using the glasses, I have experienced significant pain in my ear where the temple arm rests. The pressure from the glasses has caused skin irritation and a painful swelling, as shown in the attached photograph.

Due to this issue, I am unable to wear the glasses comfortably. I have not experienced this problem with other eyewear, and I believe there may be an issue with the fit or the product itself.

As the discomfort has resulted in a physical injury, I kindly request that you replace my Ray-Ban Meta Gen 2 with another unit under the applicable warranty or replacement policy. I would appreciate your prompt assistance in resolving this matter.

Product: Ray-Ban Meta Gen 2
Purchase Date: 26 March 2026

I have attached:

  • A photograph of the affected ear.
  • My proof of purchase (invoice/receipt).

Please let me know the next steps for processing my replacement request.

Thank you for your prompt attention. I look forward to your response.

Kind regards,

Shaheer KP

Hi Shaheer,

Skin irritation or a small pressure spot behind the ear can happen with any glasses, especially when they're new or worn for long periods. It doesn't necessarily indicate a defect in the Ray‑Ban Meta frames - it's usually related to fit, pressure, or general skin sensitivity, not a hardware fault. The photo you shared looks consistent with normal pressure irritation rather than a product issue.

Before pursuing a replacement, it's worth trying the usual fixes: adjusting the temple arms for a lighter fit, taking short breaks, and keeping the contact points clean. These steps typically resolve this kind of irritation.

Also, this section of the forum is for VR headsets rather than Ray‑Ban Meta glasses, so support staff will not see your request here.

If the discomfort continues after adjusting the fit and cleaning the frames, Ray‑Ban Meta Support can advise further - but warranty replacements generally require a clear product fault, not normal skin reactions.
