Hello

my glasses have been stolen is there a way to lock them , I have the boxes and serial number and receipts. The first glasses I got stolen in a venue, the second got stolen infront of my friends house. Is there a way to lock them or mark them as stolen? When I try to make a report it says it’s linked to another meta account. I have boxes and receipt for these devices to prove it and on my meta app phone

Report it to the police or contact official support.

Hi Mudz1992 ,

Were you eventually able to contact Meta Support to report the theft? How did you do it?

I've tried to find a way to contact them through the support portal, but it's impossible. Unfortunately, I'm facing the same issue: it says that no device is associated with my account, so I can't proceed.

I have the police report, the purchase invoice, the serial number, photos, and even usage history showing a login that occurred after the theft date, but I have no way to provide this information to Meta Support.

No luck mate , meta were no help at all I have everything too but got no where with them no help . 2 glasses gone . They said to me if it’s registered to someone else they can’t do anything about it. It’s a joke even if you have the right evidence

The same thing happened to me. I contacted Meta through WhatsApp using the support link below, which I found through another community post:

https://www.meta.com/en-gb/help/support/?g1=5960237440706837&g2=26500769372871399&g3=none&et=none&sg=skip

Meta advised me to file a police report and ask law enforcement to submit a records request through this portal:

https://www.facebook.com/records/login/

The request should include the glasses’ serial number. (Mine were Oakley Meta Vanguard model.) I still had the original box, and the serial number was printed on a label.

Meta indicated that law enforcement may be able to request available records associated with the glasses, including information that could help identify the account using them or determine where they have been used. Any follow-up or recovery attempt would then be handled by the police.

I am filing a police report now and will update this thread about Meta’s responsiveness.

In my case, a few days after the theft, I discovered that someone had logged into the stolen headset. I requested a download of my data from Meta, but the data shows both the SSIDs of the Wi-Fi networks used and the GPS location (latitude and longitude) in a censored/redacted form.

Apparently, if the police or a court requests the data, the information is disclosed. I reported this to the police station and provided an update to my original report, but more than two months have now passed and they haven’t done anything.

I’ve given up on recovering them, and they might even be somewhere right next to my home.

I hope you have better luck than I did.
