360 Video in Unity

Hi all,

New to Unity, so apologies for the beginner question. I'm attempting to create a basic player for my 360º video content in Unity. Have loaded the Oculus kit in, but basically cannot figure out how to create the environment to mesh my video to. Just looking to create a basic player, with a preloaded video that I can upload to Share.

Any tips? Or does anyone know of a previous thread where this has been covered?

Cheers,

Ben

I've been working on a player myself for people to skin and upload there own videos without having to worry about getting people to setup the parameters. https://share.oculus.com/app/whirligig-publisher---player

If you're interested in how to apply video in 360 degree format my player uses meshes created in 3ds max with the correct mapping and then the video materials applied to those objects. The video playback plugin is renderheads avpro, both quicktime and windows. If you're interested in the meshes I'll be happy to post them :)

Neat! I came up with a player solution using the same set-up. Would be interested in the meshes! Thank you! :D

(Ours isn't for a standalone player though, but an app that uses video as part of a larger experience.)
