Floating point precision
Hi,
i have run into an issue with large scene on our project. The size of the game would be ideally 10 000 by 10 000 units. As far as i understand it, Unity is using 7 digits for precision, meaning at 1000 units you are still getting 3 decimals for precision ( 1000.001 for example ), if that is the case, shouldnt the precision of 9999.999 be exactly same ?
In our VR project there is no shaking at 1000 units or so, but it gets increasingly worse to 9999 units, at 9000 its shaking like crazy.
Can someone please explain why that would be the case ? Is this specifically affecting VR only ?
Thanks
Luke
